The Disease

Oltyth frowned, looking nervous. "I hope that these guys are telling the truth," he muttered with a glance at the black dragon. "I mean, what if saying his name does something completely different?"

Shya extended one wing partially and yanked it back towards her body, turning her dive into a spinning descent. Beside her, Naïma said something, but it was lost in the wind.
"What?" Shya called, laughing.
"I've found a faster way in!" the air dragoness shouted. Spreading all six of her wings, she banked away, beckoning for Shya to follow.
"I don't see any other entrance," she huffed, pulling into level flight behind Naïma.
Silently, the air dragon pointed down at a thin column of smoke rising steadily through the air. "Unless someone's started a campfire on top of the cave, that stuff's coming out through a hole of some sort. If we go through, that's where we'll find the action." She smiled once more, wind stripping away the wisps of gray to reveal the dragon-sized chimney.
"Follow me if you think you can squeeze through!" she called, dropping into a swift dive at the hole below.

[Morty]

"Of course not, it's not like speaking my name aloud will, say, make me more powerful than ever." said Corvus, grinning slyly. The sprites frowned.
"Come on then, more people are dying of this disease every minute!"
"Best make haste now!" they urged.

[Midnightmoon]

Starlight glared at the skull. "You'd think all that talking would make the oxygen run out pretty fast." She muttered, then blinked. "Hey, in that third one... did anyone hear a letter?" "Ummm...If I am, and he is, what are you?" "Ya, there is emphasis on the key words, and the last one sounds like a letter. "R"."

[Awesomoman]

"Roman numerals? easy, V." Gorn said. "we have CORV......anyone else?"

"What was that?" asked Naïma, dropping through the stone shaft. As if remembering something, she looked up and shot to the side as a streak of crimson blazed down the chimney above her.
Shya opened her wings with a rush of air, snapping into a salute as she pulled in front of Starlight.
"Shya-tael of the Fire Clan present and ready to kick some dark dragon—" She broke off, seeing Corvus already restrained by the skulls. "You guys just had to go ahead without us, didn't you?" she asked, her brows raised in mock sorrow.
Naïma looked about the room, trying to gather what she could from the expressions of the other dragons.
"Sorry for interrupting. I don't suppose someone could fill us in?"

[Morty]

"More? Are they reproducing or something?" Corvus exclaimed disbievingly. "See this is why I bring plagues about, cuts down the population to a healthy level." he added, sneering. Two of the sprites approached Shya and Naïma. "We were just about to seal this demon in his rightful prison." "But seeing as we are bound by contract to never reveal our own kind's names, we had to resort to a riddle, which is really kind of ridiculous, but still perfectly legal." "By Hell's standards at least." "Even Hell has standards." said the sprites seriously.
"Would you like us to recite the riddle for you?"

[Midnightmoon]

"Hey, gal. Ya sorry about not coming to find you. Anyway, as this guy has said we need the black dragons name to seal him away... or so we've been told. We have Corv so far and the last two parts of the riddle is the name of a female sheep and the sound a snake makes." Starlight said, first with surprise then hurried impatience.

[Kauria]

"A female sheep?" Shya asked, twisting to look back at the black dragon. "Ewe. Some human farmers tried to settle a little too close to the hot springs, and those fluffy abominations were all over the place," she said with a grin. "So that makes C-O-R-V-U so far."

[Midnightmoon]

(OOC: whatever, I'm gunna get this over with. morty: I, personally, would like to finish up the thread. could corvus not be all like hax? or at least not too much as to take up a few more pages?)

"And that leaves the last, which I have to agree, was cleverly simple." Dinara said clapping her hands with a bit of happiness. "S. And if you hadn't notice but we have a bit of a accent like that sound, or as far as the humans are concerned from what I hear." Then she stilled, tallying up the letters. "Huh, You name kinda sounds like Carve-us." She thought some more. "Does that mean we gotta cut up your friends here and say your name?"

((Eh? The fight's over. Sorry I made such a big deal out of sealing the skull instead of simply destroying the enemy like you usually do. Next time I have to be a bad guy, I'm just gonna let you guys to it whichever way you want. XD *waits for someone to finish the job*))

"Corvus," Naïma muttered thoughtfully, tilting her head to one side.. "That's Latin for a raven." She peered at the pinned dragon. "A fitting name for him."
"He who spoke 'Nevermore,'" Oltyth recited, standing on a stone platform just below the rim of the pit. "Certainly sounds like we've got the right name. So what are we supposed to do now?" he called at the sprites.

[Morty]

Corvus struggled violently as his name echoed in the open air. But the skulls held him fast, and he soon resigned to bitter sulkiness.
"How could you do this? Your own brother!"
The sprites ignored him. "Excellent." said the first sprite, steepling his fingers. This one seemed to be the spokesperson of the group. "Now bind his soul. We can help, but until it is done we are still bound ourselves." he looked around expectantly.
"The golem Carakal, built from the bones of our brethren, has guarded the gates of our world for thousands of years. We regret that it was used to cause such damage..." said the sprite, reflecting. "Hell is not the way it used to be, sadly. We'd like to make sure neither Carakal nor Corvus ever walks the surface again. His spirit will be bound and his crimes will be repaid in the manner accustomed to his circle." he announced, drawing up a mark of sealing on the forehead of the central skull.
"Are you sure we should be telling them all this? They might use Her bones to their own ends." hissed one of the sprites.
"I believe they will do the right thing."
"Then why are we helping them? We are princes of hell, our whole livelyhood is based on making people do the wrong thing." said another sprite, laughing callously.
"Revenge, cousin. It is time Corvus receive the full judgement of the seven circles. A double dose of his own medicine, so to speak. We will talk of this when we return everything to order." said the first to his brethren.
The sprites muttered. They agreed. They hovered awkwardly while they awaited Corvus's resealing.

[Nohiki]

"So be it." Said Sol'Lux and pointed her finger. "You, who plagued this land. You, who killed countless and left countless suffering. You, who came uninvited from the depths. Begone! Suffer the fate of your brothers! Leave this world and never return!" As she finished, a beam of light shot from her finger, connecting Corvus and one of the skulls. It slowly sucked his body in, until it merged with the skull. Then, the skull shot to the air, broke through the ceiling and left the world, set to fly out to the border of the universe, to be farther and farther from the planet. "Now maybe we can have a DAY OFF!" barked Sol'Lux.

At the same time, Fireheart turned around and saw a weak beacon of light. He followed it to the ground level under one tower. It was a shining rock with runes emitting the light. He touched it and...
The floor under him started moving downwards, while the floor over him quickly sealed the opening. He grabbed the stone pedestal and held on until the floor stopped moving. When he wanted to release it, a white light surrounded him. When it vanished, he was somewhere else. As far as he could tell, it was still a cave, but enforced with... Roots! And in the middle of the roots, a rock covered with the same shining runes. He never seen these, but for some reason, he could read them. He picked a random spot and... It was describing recent history! He couldn't help himself, and started from the beginning.

"Huuuh? I tell ya, i got no idea. HE was just swallowed by the floor. Zat's a perfect description of what happened here!" said Phoenicia to Sol'Lux who demanded to know where Fireheart went. "And here i thought it's over. Silly me."

Fireheart was amazed. He found mentions of not one, but in total 6 worlds. Dragon Essence, Earth, and 4 other worlds seeded before Dragon essence. As no one but him and Sol'Lux knew, he already visited the first colony, and his home was the fifth. Now he found some details about the fourth, though the remaining two were like they were erased from the history. The name of the fourth world was familiar. Atlantis. He heard a mention about it in Earth's legends. Also, that a great source of power remains there. A power that could protect Dragon Essence, maybe forever. Hence forth, he was determined to find it. He must go to Earth and try to uncover more of that legend. at the same time, another rock covered with runes. He stepped closer and touched it...

He appeared in front of Sol'Lux, who was preparing to search for him. "Where were you, young man?" she asked, irritated. "You may be all grown up but you are still my little boy, don't scare me like that!" Fireheart interrupted her: "I have found something! Of great importance! A clue to power that might protect us from most of the evil!" Sol'Lux was stunned for a second, but then smiled. "You are going to find it, aren't you?" She asked. Fireheart nodded: "A steel wall couldn't stop me." with that, Fireheart, Sol'Lux and Phoenicia returned to the Fire Forthress to check out the land and damage.

Later that day, Fireheart seek out Dinara. "Hi. How's your end of the island doing? Listen... Would you like to travel to another worlds?" he asked.

Gorn smiled as Corvus was defeated, at last everything could return to normal, for them. But Gor had no clue what he was going to do, his dad was dead and he was too young to take on the power of being a god. Noticing that everyone was caught up in what seemed to be the end of all this, Gorn teleported away. He didn't know where he was or where he was going, and he didn't care. When Zarin's dad died he wandered off on his own for years, and he became one of the most powerful dragons there was. Gorn decided that if he ever wanted to even match his dad, he would do the same.


(OOC: If your wondering i will bring Gorn back but at a later time, just for fun.)

[Morty]

One of the sprites stayed Sol'Lux's hand as she was about to send the skull to the outer reaches of the universe. "A-a-a, we'll be taking that, if you don't mind." said the green sprite hastily, shrinking and tucking the skull under his arm.
"It will be safer under our supervision, believe you me." said another sprite.
"For now, it's back to Hell with us. And.. I believe you are forgetting something." said the first sprite, picking up the shining orb from the dirt where it had been dropped. He proffered it to the dragoness.
"Going down!"
The central pillar of the cavern juddered and spun clockwise, sinking lower into the ground with a clunk. The ground opened around it, bones and earth falling away to form a cavernous pit, the bottom of which disappeared into darkness.
The sprites, along with Carakal's bones, fell into the abyss. The ground sealed shut with a final rumble.
