EB p.2 The Dark Times

Ignis got what she wanted. She heard the wings beating, immediately firing in the direction. However, judging by the lack of screaming, her target was well and probably already gone. Allright, so it's the other one. she thought, looking quickly around where the light from the fire around was dimmer. There you are! she said and rushed in the direction, a fire wave in front of her.

Athvesa rolled to the side, the wall of fire washing past his left wing. He winced at the burn, but dug in his armored hind claws and whirled to counter. He leapt forward and swiped at the approximate location of his attacker, his armored claws spread wide and glimmering with magic.

Maela darted through the clashing forces, occasionally leaping over a fallen dragon to get to Leucrocuta. She sprang into the air, black wings beating. "Hello, Captains," she said cheerily. "I don't suppose you two are too busy to come join us?" She cast a hand in Athvesa's direction. "Afterwards, I'm sure we could have someone take a look at that wing."

[Morty]

"Ah, hello General, we were just looking for you!" said Jack, standing to attention on the tip of Lulu's snout. "We'd be honoured to assist in any way we can!" He bowed exaggeratedly.
"Well, let's not waste time, then." Lulu grunted, ushering the general onto her back and barrelling through the battle chaos. "What's the occasion, if I might ask?" she asked between strides.

Ignis flown quickly up to dodge the paw, finding herself staring into the dragon's eyes. "I will never blink!" she said after five seconds when none of them moved to provoke.

Maela rolled her shoulders and cracked a smile. "Athvesa and I are being held up by a rather insistent half-dragon— at least, I think she is. In any case, it's impacting our rebel count, so it's only fair that you two should have to suffer with us for the moment." She leaned out to one side, eyes searching for Athvesa's black shape in the smoke.

Athvesa pulled back suddenly, wings gusting smoke into where he had crouched a heartbeat ago. He fired a wide, razor-thin blade of water into the sooty darkness, and then circled swiftly to the left, tensed to leap again. The ice dragon paused to make sure the elemental attack had passed, and then shot forward, trying to pin his smaller opponent with either forepaw.

[Morty]

"Half-dragon? How does one become a--? You know what, I don't want to know." he shuddered. Lulu laughed.
"Well, we won't be suffering long. Hold on tight!" she said and reared up on her hind legs, beating her wings powerfully. The smoke cleared from the arena. "Evening, General." she said, spying Athvesa a short way away.

Ignis blicked the water stream, but her wrist armor waved goodbye and her right wrist broke. Something cleared the smoke just as her opponent was closing in on her. She backflipped out of the way, just close enough to reach with her other claw, slashing with full strength and aiming for his eye.

Athvesa whipped his head at Leucrocuta's voice, a metal claw drawing a deep white streak along one of his horns. The ice dragon growled and landed heavily a short distance away.
Maela shot into the air with a flap of her wings, alighting on Athvesa's back. She stood up straighter, the symbols on her halberd glowing. "I haven't forgotten about you, if you were worried."

"Pheew. One out of a hundred, but at least i hit." said Ignis for herself when the dragon ran away. However the rider was coming, and apparently bringing another pair to reinforce them. "Wouldn't dream of it." she answered to the demoness' taunt. "Now why don't you send your pets to lick their wounds while we deal with the situation?" she said, actually wanting this fight even though she was injured. Two dragons however kinda spoiled her fun. "Because if not, i'll leave you up to him, if you know who i mean." she said with an evil spark in her eyes.

"I'm cool with that." said Jack perkily. Lulu snorted, hiding her embarassment. "As if. Stand still, halfling." she laughed, circling Ignis. Her tusks jutted out with a snick, horns curling out from her head with a sickening crunch.
How do you propose we go about this, Generals? We'd be more likely to hit eachother if we attacked uncoordinatedly. Lulu pryed tentatively, reaching out with her mind.
Why are we whispering? piped in Jack. Lulu kept her eye on Ignis, wary of any sudden movements.

"Allright, monster." she said, "But remember, you asked for it."

Ignis turned off her mind barriers that held her dragon's personality and much of his power in line. She spazmed a little as it took control over her body. In a second, her aura amplified five times and flame streams drawn the shape of her dragon around her. "Traitor!" she pointed on Lulu, her voice sounding like Odin's. She jumped to the air much faster than before, ramming Lulu. "You will pay!" she said and circled around the dragoness, always quickly changing position after an attack to avoid retaliation. In a final strike, she flown up, coming down at high velocity, trying to impale the dragoness to sever her spine.

Lulu rolled her eyes, fully prepared to meet the falling Ignis halfway. "Is that you, Odin? Why, I thought you were dead." she said, rearing up on her hind legs, a bony growth extending from her skull like a jagged horn. "Maybe you haven't learned your lesson. You remember what happened last time you faced a giant wolf."
Jack cursed, summoning a gust of wind that caught Lulu's half-open wings, bowling her out of the way at the last second. "Are you crazy?" he hissed, watching the half-dragon speed past them harmlessly. "That could have killed us!"
Lulu stabilized herself quickly, her claws drawing ruts in the ground. "You seem to be underestimating me, Jack. They don't call me the Wolf of the Evening for nothing."

"I have to admit that i should have predicted her brood being nearby, but that doesn't matter. And it won't help you anyway, unless you decide to listen to your slavemaster and back off and let us do this. Old bones like you shouldn't fight anyway. Say, why don't you sit near fireplace and read books? Oh, i forgot. You lost your eye, lamo." growled Ignis and raised her open hand. A flame ran through it, forming a spear. She swung it in front of her. A huge fire wave went right for them. "I mean, you sank so low that you bonded with this, this... Guy? And when i say bonded, i say it in massive sarcasm quotes."

[Morty]

"Hey!" yelled Jack indignantly, parting the wave with a blast of wind.
"Your insults mean nothing to me." Lulu yawned, bracing herself against the rush of hot air. "Who is it that's forced to live in the body of an immature elf female?" she said, charging from the ensuing smoke at Ignis, a massive, jagged horn several meters thick poised to impale her.

"Oh don't you worry. We're working on getting us separated again." He said and formed a wall of white-hot fire between the attack and them, incinerating everything it touched. "You underestimate me, i might have less physical power this way, but my magic remains the same. But enough babboring. Time to meet your fate. If you're lucky, you'll be glad to survive like i did. Farewell!" he said and swunh their hand. The air near their opponents caught on fire when the oxygen and nitrogen started to react. "Now, while they choke to death or burn their lungs, what should i do about you two?" they said, turning to Maela and Athvesa.
