Shya pulled to a halt in midair and hovered for a moment, her wings beating furiously. She looked behind her and saw Starlight's silhouette against the fading glow of the setting sun. A sudden burst of activity caught her attention. She turned back to the source of the now-dwindling stream of smoke in the clearing ahead. A flock of flits exploded from the clearing, all trying to get away from something. Then it went silent. Shya raised an eyebrow at Starlight. What's going on? Cautiously, she folded her wings into her body, and arched into a dive. Flaring her wings, she slowed and came to a landing in the clearing. Everywhere, there were the remains of scavengers like gyradas and flits. Sitting in the middle of all the carnage, Drakine crouched numbly nearby the smoldering corpse of what had to be Kantanion. Shya approached cautiously, placing one foot carefully in front of another, not waiting for Starlight. "What... happened to him?" she asked, ready to take off if Drakine lashed out at her.

Starlight landed a bit closer then Shya, going in to see at the damage in detail. "Well who ever it was that person had access to fire or some kind of acid." she thought, not saying it out loud. The fire part would make the devastated dragon think it was a fire dragon while the acid would lead to earth (some earth dragons can obtain the ability to spit acid) and there had all ready been too much fighting today.

When Drakine didn't respond, Shya retreated a few steps and lay down with her chin resting on her talons. I'm going to wait out the night and see if he does anything. She made as if to start a small fire, but seeing the smoking remains of Kantanion, she quickly decided it would be unwise to do so, just in case Drakine thought she intended to disrespect his friend. Then again, his "friend" did attack me for no reason... "Hmph," she snorted and turned away from the center of the clearing so she could see out into the forest.

Starlight was going to go leave to tell Zarin the situation, but thought better when she remembered what happened how the earlier fight had started. Instead she said looked over at Shya and asked, could you please go tell Zarin what the situation here? There might be some trouble heading his way."

Shya was about to protest, but realized Starlight's reasons for sending her. She nodded. "Alright, I'll do it." She spread her wings and shot over the forest, trying to pick out the shape of the arena in the dim light. She finally managed to spot Zarin, who seemed to be discussing something with two other dragons. Whomever they were, they would have to wait. "General, it's urgent, we've lost another one. This time it's Kantanion. Except it looks like someone else killed him, maybe even tortured him beforehand."
------
Naïma was startled by the new arrival and even more so by her news. "Zarin, you'd better go fast. So that doesn't happen again," she said, gesturing towards the crater inside the arena.

Darkring gasped. "What? another one?" Darkring nodded. "I think everyone should leave this area. It seems too dangerous." He inquired. "Do you have any idea who the killer might be?" He asked Shya.

Shya shook her head. "I'm afraid not. The body was scorched and covered in claw marks, but aside from that, we have little evidence. It was most likely a dragon, since we're nowhere near anyplace where a creature of fire would want to live. I'd appreciate it if you didn't jump to any conclusions, though, as Drakine's mad enough at the fire dragons already." She turned around, ready to take off. "If you want to see, follow me. Starlight's there already." With that, Shya-tael launched into the starry sky.

Drakine turned around, tears in his eyes as he saw Shya and Starlight enter the clearing. He bristled a little, but did nothing. He was to numb with grief to care. Looking a his remains, he was fury with grief that someone had tortured his one and only friend. Peering up again, he noticed the other dragons were gone. The flits and gyardas were gone too, scared or murdered by him. Nothing in this forest would desturb him, and his madness grew stronger the longer he looked at the mangled remains of Kantanion.

Shya flapped to a stop over the clearing, watching Drakine hunch over Kantanion protectively. Slowly and cautiously, she landed near the carcass of a gyrada and folded her wings. I've had enough of him sitting here. It's not healthy to be like this. "Drakine?" she called out softly. "Are you okay?"

Drakine slowly turned. Shya was there again, asking if he was okay. "I made sure all these gyrada's and flits didn't get him. I killed them all. Kantanion's dead. My one and only friend, tortured and murdered." mumbled Drakine, not caring about anything else.

Shya took a few small steps forward. "Do you have any idea who might have done it?" she asked, refreshing the block on her mind. Not that he seems in any condition to read minds, but just in case. She turned to Starlight. "I went and told Zarin and some others. They should be here soon."

"Good. Actually Zarin might be here in a batter of seconds. He's acquired the ability to move faster then light so he can go pretty fast if he wanted to." Starlight looked around and into the surrounding trees cautiously. She personally didn't sense anything, but still. She always had her mind block at the ready but she backed it up with another layer just in case.

Drakine slowly and heavily hung and shook his head, indicating his unknowing of this. Turning his head back to Kantanion, he just sat there, mind blank, wishing he could do something, a miricale for Kantan. An insane cloud fogged up his mind, but he just sat there, shedding more tears over his friend.

"Another? And this time murdered.......Wait..." Zarin thought back. "Oh i hope its not what i think." Zarin sent a thought to Star. "Ill be there later, right now i have to find someone, a suspect." Zarin zoomed through the forest to find Chaos. He found him and went straight to the point. "Chaos, someone was killed, brutally. I just need to know. Have been awake this whole time or have you blacked out recently?"

Darkring watched Drakine. Carefully he walked over to him. "Drakine, this is no time to mourn. Think about it, do you think Kantanion would want you to give up and grive?" Darkring knew that Kohta knew the answer to that. No. "Does anyone here know therapy to help this poor fellow and maybe help him go through this pain and shock with some magic therapy that will make him better? Or at least some herbs?" Darkring asked.
