Let the Games Begin

Attoro looked at his wing with wide open eyes.
"Er theres this hole in the top of the tree that I went to explore and I er...I fell in. -.- I tumbled down and broke my wing. I eventually found a room full of cool stuff and green mist. I touched an object and the green mist became blue and started choking me. " Red said all in one breath.

As he said that, some of the blue mist started pouring out of the hole and started to make its way towards Gorn.

Ice grew up in front of Gorn and Starlight flew up from a lower branch. She too had been drawn by the sound of the explossion. The blue mist stopped at the icy barrier but then started to go around. With a little growl she expanded the ice around Gorn who could still see over the top as it was only up to his shoulder. "Idea's Sol?"

"Whateh?" snarled Sol'Lux and sent a telepathic message to some air dragon. In a moment, strong wind started blowing and then there was nothing of the blue mist left. "Like that?" she said, "Problem solved. Now, don't go where you can't fit," she said to Attoro, "watch out for your stuff," she said to Gorn, "Aaaaand.... Whatever." she waved her hand in Iskander's direction. Then a yawn crawled up her throat so she went to upper branches to find a place to sleep.

Meanwhile, Phoenicia gathered some earth and water friends and started planning the building. When they had everythign thought up, the earth dragons laid the bases of the walls. Then they all went to sleep so they will be frest to continue in the light.

Iskander flattened his ears, expecting his turn at the chopping-block would be the worse of the three, but perked up again when he was let off easy. "Well! That was an exciting adventure. Let's never do that again." He grinned at the two other young dragons. "Getting crowded in here..." he muttered, and looked longingly at the bonfires below, suppressing a yawn. "So.. Uh.. Sorry for using your fireworks, Gorn." He said apologetically. "Should have gone for help, maybe."

As the sun set, the tree came alive with light. From fires to orbs of energy, and from fireflies to fungus, pinpricks of light gradually appeared draped throughout the branches, dotted on the ground, and flickering on the water, filling the clearing with gentle glow. Shya padded across the ground by the base of the tree, inhaling the woody scent of cooking fires. Some of the residual smoke from the earlier blast had drifted down and mingled, and the fire dragoness shook her head with a smile. She turned, ducking her head to enter the overhang that sheltered the forge.

Starlight shrugged and headed for the very top of the tree, where drifts of snow rested on the branches. After making a little ice platform in the nook of two branches Starlight gathered up some of the snow and arranged it like bedding. Laying down she gazed tiredly up at the twinkling stars.

Gorn saw everyone else going to bed, it made him feel tired as well. "Well Isk, looks like its sleep time." Gorn reached into his bag and pulled out what looked like a folded up net with two hooks, one on each end. Gorn unfolded it and hooked one hook on a branch and another on one right next to it, then laid down in his hammock. "Best invention ever." He whispered to himself with a smile.

Attoro, still recovering from the shock of his experiance, decided that he should probably be going to sleep soon. He decided he would assume it was alright for him to sleep in(not literally in) the tree. After circling the grand tree for several minutes, Attoro found an unused large bunch of leaves which he nestled into and fell asleep.

Iskander made a distasteful face at the others' choice of bedding. "G'Night." he said, and swooped down to one of the bonfires, settling himself in a sandy hollow by the fireside, so close that the flames nearly licked his scales. Once he'd folded his wings around himself it was almost impossible to tell what was Iskander and what was sand. He laid his head on his claws and drifted off.

The days following were as exciting as the first. There was few incidents and everyone was relaxed and enjoying themselves. It was during that time that everyone momentarily forgot about the hardships of the many years and just had fun. It was now the last day of the gathering and everyone still there were now starting to trickle away to their own homes to resume their everyday lives.

Iskander cast one last look at the Ancient Tree before continuing through the forest. He'd wracked up quite the reputation over the past few days, and reckoned it was time to hit the road again. The party was over, and he had no intention of staying to help clean up. So, he "borrowed" some supplied and was on his way, not expecting he'd ever go that way again.

[Awesomoman]

"STOP RIGHT THERE!" Gorn jumped right next to Isk and gave him an evil look. "Don't you even try leaving." He switched to a smile. "With out me." Gorn started to walk with Isk into the forest. "We might want to go faster, I'm not good with goodbyes and i don't think those dragons liked you taking their bags."

"Taking? You mean borrowing, yes?" He grinned as Gorn caught up to him. "I was going to tell you I was leaving, but you looked pretty hung-over." he laughed, scouting his way over a fallen log.

[Awesomoman]

"Hey, don't blame me. The drinks were WAY too good." Gorn laughed.

[Morty]

"Not so loud!" said Isk and laughed, clutching his head.
"Haha, I was actually headed in the direction of the desert." said Iskander, pulling a map from his bag and pointing to several trails marked with x's. "Might find old tombs with treasure in them! And I do know a very good tequila recipe."
