Ciro grumbled but made no reply, chilled by the turn the conversation had taken. More knowledgeable than Sol'Lux? Now that was a scary thought: one that only served to raise more questions, to boot. How and where could his mysterious uncle have possibly learned so much? And why? What secret did the light city hold that someone like Fireheart would put energy into finding it? Ciro was more determined than ever to unlock the mystery of the ancient ruins. He'd been foolish to think he could have kept his little misadventure a secret, but maybe now that they knew what they were up against, his mother would consent to letting him explore the ruins. While he was frightened of the dark dragons, he was sure there was a way to work around them. He was the son of a guardian and a demigod, for goodness's sake! "Ma, I think I would like to go to the training ring, after all." he said with a pang of regret. History would have to wait. He was going to have to learn some moves if he was going to make it past those dark dragons.
((Anyone feel free to bring in Vorun if you want an opponent for the arena. u-u ))

sapphire arrived at leafs room where he was in deep conversation with an older dragon. "surprise" she said where he then looked at her with the most ecstatic expression she had seen him wear. ---- leaf had been deep in conversation when sapphire came in the room but yet he was still waiting on the healer to arrive before the could head out. "good thing you came before the healer did i hear they like to kick out the friends and family." he said looking at her happily. "That's the surprise I'm your healer!" she said excitedly and was then cut of by an abrupt voice, the same one as before say "UP FIRST A DRAGON NAMED VORUN AND FOR THE FIRST TIME FIGHTING LEAF WHO WILL BE FIGHTING IN A FEW MINUTES." which was then followed by cheers and a small female dragon coming in who bustled him and sapphire of before he could react to what she had said. ------ Tukali watched as a conversation transpired between this youngin leaf and a female water dragon he had apparently been traveling with it was clear to anybody but them that they where in love he could tell by the way he had talked about her and how he was looking at her. and for once in his life he was jealous and a little bit sad for he had no one but he was happy for the two nonetheless. then they where bustled out. ooc: now the dragons enter seperate sides and shake hands.

OOC: Ciro vs Vorun! "As you wish, but let me just grab...." Phoenicia trailed off, her sight switching between buckets with various flavors of ice cream, "This!" she finally decided and grabbed the Piel de sapo one. "Check it out and see if this isn't a better place to hang around." she joked. "Daddy daddy daddy! Can i see can i see?" Lantea went on, pulling on Gorn's scales.

sapphire stayed at the edge of the protective barrier so she could rush in at any point in the fight, while leaf approached a dark lean muscled dragon with a lot of scars and shook hands. she started to get nervous about how hurt leaf might get. ------- leaf walked through the protective field and got the feeling of walking through water. he went up and shook hands with the dragon known as vorun. his handshake almost crushing leaf tried not to wince and went to the other end and stood in a defensive position feeling deep down what his tactic would have to be.

((Lmfao would remind me of this static.fjcdn.com/gifs/FINISH_2313cf_132203.gif )) Ciro pouted, unamused. "I can't eat ice cream before fighting!" he cried, crossing his arms. "Come on! We have to go before Risi and Tea show up, or they'll think I'm trying to be like them!" he said anxiously. He didn't really want to fight his siblings. They'd probably let him win, or worse, beat him and never let him forget it. He was already starting to think this was a bad idea, but he couldn't go back now, now that he'd voiced his intentions out loud. It just wasn't something you did. Vorun crossed the distance between him and the young emerald dragon and shook his hand firmly. His dark blue scales had grayed with aged and become darker, the once ivory horns that had protruded from the base of his skull were now the colour of iron. What was more, a pair of leathery black wings framed his body, their inky undersides creating deep shadows in the older dragon's vicinity. At his request, the lights dimmed slightly. "Good luck." he said amiably to the young fighter, and returned to his position at the other end of the arena, waiting for the starting signal.

Scourge was ready to show his gate summoning ability to the light greenish blue dragoness until a voice from the arena caught their attention. The young one then started tugging at her father begging to go watch then a an idea occurred to the demon. "Hey Thoron, we should go watch! Maybe it's one of those crucibles with the imprisoned where they die from horrible creatures!" blundered the god king. Thoron took his attention off of Gorn and the other dragon to look at Scourge with a response, "It's not that type of arena Scourge. It's where dragons show their wits and combat techniques to prevail. Usually the arena pits two against two to see which team has the better strategy, and usually the one with the most combat strategy and teamwork wins!" The black dragon shifted his body to face the demon then said, "Yeah we can just you need to be cautious and not threaten others, unless you want to challenge them, and even there you can't kill them or use that weapon of yours." Scourge grunted with distaste when he heard about not using his mace in the arena making him think of something else. The demon walked past Gorn and down the road away from the great tree throwing his right hand to the sky where a massive fireball grew over around his hand. Scourge took a few quick steps forward as he then hurled the fireball to the skies where it exploded creating a large oblivion gate hovering above the clouds. A moment later an inferno black bone dragon of good size blasted through the gate and landed in front of the demon and upon landing; it walked up to Scourge bowing it's head at him as the portal vanished from existence. The demon god lifted his hand at the demonic dragon then placed his twisted chard appendage on the creature's left cheek. "You will serve as me in the arena and with your now returned mortal appearance, you shall be a good equal challenge for those mortals in there just don't kill anyone I guess." spoke the demon as his dragon then lost all his armor and grew flesh black like the dark clans banners in front of Thoron and the others. Thoron never thought Scourge would play a fair game with others on this world but he is glad that he would do so to honor those that earned their powers. The dragon he summoned: dragonike.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/shadow-dragon.jpgThen when he returned the flesh: images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb57887/ben10fanfiction/images/0/0d/Black_Dragon_by_BenWootten.jpg

"And they wonder why i tried to summon a demon the better part of my life. The whole wizard mess could have been dealt with a lot sooner had i succeeded. The things i could change into with my metamorphosis spell if i had the power..." Lantea sighed, still shaking at the thought of that time.
"You don't have to fight, Ciro." Phoenicia said with a sigh, "WE fought so you don't have to. It's not what you do! At least not what you do best..." She continued, stopping and looking her son in the eyes. "I am sure my brother left many mysteries behind him, but i am also sure that some of them should remain mystery. Take the gate that he used to travel to earth and back. Due to that, some alien bugs now know where we live, and if they show up..." Phoenicia trailed off, not wanting to talk about this topic. "I'll take you there if that is what you want, but please just don't do something stupid. Like trying to prove yourself to siblings or something."

"Oh! Yes, I'm from Hell. Avaritia, actually." Iskander replied to Scourge, surprised. "My name is Iskander, son of Vissarion. You must be the lords Scourge and Thorondar." he added, his shape flickering to a more infernal appearance in the presence of fellow demons. He was inexplicably pleased when he heard that the young dragoness had been practicing summoning magic. "I'd say my uncle or I could show you a trick or two, but it looks like you already have a willing teacher." he said to Lantea, chuckling. He quickly held his tongue, however, when it occurred to him that the two ancient demons might take offense. So instead he watched in silent awe at the display of magic performed by the armored giant upon the summoning of the skeletal dragon. He was pretty sure his uncle wasn't capable of doing that. Not on this world, at least. Iskander had come to understand that there were many, many codes and regulations that restricted the actions that princes were allowed to take in the various mortal realms. Some realms, as Corvus doubtlessly knew, had to be conquered before they could be reaped. But Iskander didn't want to think about that.
Ciro sighed. "Ma, I have to learn to fight some time. Besides, it's not like I'm gonna be challenging any older kids, I just want to learn some moves in case we ever get attacked by the wizards again." he reasoned, put off. If she didn't think he could defend himself against his own siblings, then why had she allowed he and Taranis to go face off against the biggest Gyrada of all time? Wasn't that worth anything? He wasn't afraid of fighting, he just hated it on principal because his siblings liked it. Why didn't anyone understand that??

"That is exactly the point i want you to see, you don't have to learn to fight. There are more skillsets needed, healers for one thing. A role where the few of us light dragons have the privilege to be best at. Do you really think that EVERYONE fought in all the wars? No, they didn't. Look around you. Most of them are civilians, smiths, crafters, hunters... don't let the family curse get you unless it's absolutely necessary or what you really want." Phoenicia said, but took off to the sparring ground anyway. As she was approaching, she started to recognize a figure. the unmistakable combination of orange and black. They haven't seen each other in 10 years. "allright, egg, You wanna learn how to fight? You're gonna get the best teacher there is. But once you're committed, there is no going back." she said, an evil grin on her face, "Yes or no?"
Tara hauled the planks she made back to the tree to be used to fix any damage to the arena that would undoubtedly be caused by the fighters. She was frustrated. She didn't even enter the challenge. There was no match for her in such closed space. Maybe she should give up and accept the promotion to the fortress guard like her mother wanted. It would take some time for any new war to be fought, and she could always reactivate in military in such case.

"A healer?" Ciro's indignity flared. A healer? A civilian? Where was the prestige in that? His pride wounded, he was prepared to state his determination anew, when he spotted the dragoness Phoenicia appeared to be approaching from the air. His outrage withered at the sight of the powerful, battle-weathered fire clan adult. Hatchlings, he could deal with: he was confident in his ability to outwit any dragon his own age, but an adult, with life experience? Ciro gulped. "Uh... I didn't mean, like, fighting off hundreds of gyrada with my teeth, ma, I just wanted to learn some moves.." he said sullenly, clinging to his mother for dear life. What had he gotten himself into...?

"This is the person i learned from. Actually the only one who didn't even flinch at mentioning my father's wrath on anyone trying to teach me combat. come to think of it i was pretty much at the same situation as you are now, a parent trying to talk me out of it. OK then, mister. I will not hinder you, but you have to really mean it then. So which one is it? You in, or you out?" She said, circling above the training ground.

"Ha-ha! Perfect. Plenty of amunition for the upcoming battle." Starlight exclaimed happily. From what she could see flying in there was plenty of snow at the crown of the Ancient Tree. With a happy twirl in the air Starlight put on a burst of speed. "Hurry up!" she called back to Dinara. Making a sound that was a cross between a sigh and a chuckle, rolling her eyes, Dinara sped up and followed her mother. "Between the two of us we'll be sure to beat those light dragons." the older dragon said as she threw her head back. "Heh, your so imature some times." Dinara replied humorously, already happy that her mother had talked her into coming. "Well maturity can throw itself in the Frozen Lake, I'm going to enjoy this." As they got closer Starlight started to gain altitude but Dinara started a shallow dive. "Hey, your my backup!" "I'm going to enter the arena. Don't worry, I'll catch up with you later." she called over her shoulder, and tucked in her wings to plumet into the pond before her mom could say anything else. Swimming swiftly tothe other side she burst out onto the other side and joined the stream of dragons heading for the current battle.

The dark dragoness heard about the up coming challenge which caught her attention. She stood up poking her head through the bushes then jumped through landing on the dusty dirt. Pandora looked back at the bushes where Ourias still was and signaled him. "Hey the arena is about to have a fight. I'm going there to watch if you want to come." She said as she opened her wings and launched herself up on one of the ancient tree's limbs and pushed herself which launched her even further. In no time at all she was already finding a place to sit in the stands.

"Alright alright we'll go." Gorn laughed as his daughter tugged on him. "Names Gorn by the way. This is Lantea, and this is.....Taranis?" Taranis was gone, where he was standing was a hole in the ground that led straight to a river of magma. "Guess your brother got a head start on us." -------------------------- Taranis resurfaced just a few feet away from the arena, just where he wanted to be. He headed in to register, while admiring the structure, but was stopped by an air dragon who was only a little older than him. "You're not signing up for this are you?" Taranis shot him a stern glare. "Yeah I am, what are you gonna do about?" The air dragon laughed, "I going to wipe the floor with you, thats what. I'm the best fighter here, Hot head. So i suggest you just turn around and save us both the trouble." Taranis gritted his teeth, "Hot head? You better watch what you say, Wind bag. Because theres nobody, I repeat, NOBODY better than ME!" "We'll see about that!" The two locked in a stare down. Soon the air began to circle around them, and the grass beneath them started to catch fire.

"Hey, both of you, cut that out." Dinara growled as stream of dragons let her walk past. "The reason why. There are assigned arena's is that people and property don't get damaged." Then she reconised on of the dragonlettes. With another growl she made a grab for the one on the ground. "Don't make me chase down your parents and i know at least your mom would have told you better." She wispered the last in Taranus's ear. "'Fighting without cause is for idiots with no self control.'" said a yellow dragon just coming up behind her who Dinara quickly reconised as Zephyr. From the tone in his voice it sounded like he was quoting someone.
