About time she got one of these. For anyone who's never read the roleplays (seriously, you ought to get around to that), Shya is a character I've had for . . . a long time. Just over a year and a half, technically.
She wasn't intended to be a permanent character, but things have clearly changed and she deserves her own profile.
Name: Shya-tael
Age:
Gender: Female
Element: Fire
Appearance: Shya is average-sized for a dragon of her age and element. Her eyes are a clear orange, although they will melt into an opaque golden color when she is upset or concentrating on using her elemental abilities. Her body is covered in thousands of small red scales, although they become more platelike on her arms and legs. A pale, coarse mane of hair runs down the entire length of her spine, thinning towards the end of her long, sinuous tail. Shya's underbelly is armored with overlapping yellow scales, keeping her well-protected from attacks from below. The outsides of her wings are scaled, although the undersides are covered in a smoother orange membrane. The "index finger" of her wings is significantly shorter than the others. Her horns and claws are grayish-black.
[After LGB]: Three parallel scars run across her muzzle. They cause her some slight discomfort when she snarls, but she tolerates it because she a) is proud of her 'battle trophies' and b) hates being proven wrong (in this case, that not healing them was a dumb idea).
Full-size Refsheet:
Personality/History: Originally a hunter for the fire clan before the war, she has learned to apply her abilities in battle (thanks partly to the training she received at the hands of Zarin and Starlight) and is a fighter to the core. Shya has a tendency to jump to conclusions easily, often aided by her own personal biases, but she is still good-natured at heart. She loves a challenge, particularly those that test her physical strength. Her ability to change plans on the fly helps her adapt quickly to new circumstances.
Prone to severe mood swings.
Although talkative, Shya keeps her mind strangely guarded, particularly during times of emotional strain. Despite her experience at keeping people out of her mind, she almost never tries to enter another's, something she treats as a personal taboo.
Shya has attempted to train one apprentice as a warrior, although he was crippled when the disease struck. He completed his training, but sticks to tasks that require little physical exertion, rather than fighting.
...Shya's a little disheartened by this, and hopes to redeem herself with her next apprentice.
Abilities: Shya's primary form of elemental attack is igniting her own tail and using it rather like a flaming whip. She is immune to all fire she creates or controls, and can light her entire body on fire, although she cannot sustain it for long. She can ignite her claws and breathe some fire. In other words, she's mostly good for close-range battles.
