The Disease

Oltyth approached the edge of the swamp, his toes splayed to prevent him from sinking into the damp turf. He hopped up onto a broad, flat rock and looked across the grassy expanse ahead of him. Just beyond, he could barely see the shimmering sands of the desert.
You know you can't trust the earth dragons of the desert. They're shiftier than the sand they live in. Why else would they forsake the forests? a small voice in the back of his mind questioned. I know, but no one in the major colonies of Kikan had ever heard of either one of my parents. With the sand dragons, I might at least learn their names, he retorted.
Fine. With that, he started his trek across the plains.

Wolf sat down on his rump, panting. The group was in some sort of large cave, with decorated walls and such.

Dinara noticed a noise and when she looked over and when she found out who it was she glanced distastefully at him. She wasn't on the best of terms with him considering he had been jumping on everyone at the wrong place at the wrong time AND he and torched her father body. "Oh, it's you. Did he get sucked in again Fire?" She asked looking away from the furry wolf thing to Fireheart.

Oh no, not again... Just ignore him and if he jumps on you give him a punch. he thought back to Dinara. "This place is filled with energy. While you try to get info from Zarin, i will try one spell that might help us." He said and vanished behind a rock.

Wolf sensed a powerful aura nearby. Sniffing it out, ignored by the idiotic dragons, he found the main shinto-stlye shrine. Pressing a paw on the seal, a hidden door popped up, and Wolf slipped through, barking and howling for the others to get over here, when the rock snapped shut. Yelping and barking in panic, Wolf accidently activated the lock on the thing. Calming down a little, Wolf followed the passage.

Gorn looked around trying to remember where the temple was. "Oh were not on the right level, i need to go up higher." He relized. So he started to climb up. there was a path that went around the mountain like stairs that he followed up to the top. "Here we are. Time to go see how dads doing."

The path sloped upward, so Wolf started bounding up the path. It seemed to take forever, but suddenly he appeared at the top of the mountain. Tail wagging, Wolf barked, completly at home in the mountains, even if they wern't really his home. Barking again, Wolf marveled at the echo.

Oltyth leapt from rock to rock, the long grasses swishing as he passed. Crouching, he surged into the air and landed a short distance away. Panting slightly, he shot up and skidded across the sand as the prairie melted into desert.
Not much longer now... he thought as he began his journey through the dunes.

Fireheart went where he sensed most energy. Where is it coming from? Maybe from inside the mountain itself. Anyway, this looks like it's enough. he said and started the spell. When he absorbed enough energy, he said the ancient spell and the energy formed into a golden beam and opened huge portal deep in space above the planet. Now it's only a matter of time. he thought and went to the mountain's peak.

At the mountain's peak, Wolf again barked and marveled at the view. He saw the blue-green dragon below and wagged his tail. He felt a great surge of energy from here, and he looked up at the heavens and saw a circle of cloud above him. Cowering down, Wolf braving barked at them, then looked at the figure on top of this mountain.

Oltyth slid to a halt in a spray of sand. From the distant summit of Energy Peak, a golden beam of light shot into the sky, which was now darkening as the sun set.
Something's up... he thought as he altered his course so that it pointed towards the mountain.

The golden beam shone on Wolf, lighting up his black and gold fur. He atually found himself in the air. Barking and howling, Wolf spread his wings and flew out of the beam, only to be sucked back in. What is with Fireheart's magic that always sucked him in. It was like a prison of light, Wolf could not get out of the beam. Scratching and howling, Wolf clawed at the light beam.

OT: It was plain energy, not light. Fireheart sucked it from the mountain. Oh and Wolf is addicted to my magic? I can provide more

Fireheart climbed up and joined Dinara and Gorn. "I did it, Chaos is going to be surprised, but enough for spoiling the fun." he winked. "So, how's the big guy?"

(OOC: Well, you described it as a "golden beam," so I just called it light. Or were you talking to Darkdragon? )
