The Disease

((Come to think of it, that might have been a slightly more effective tactic. XD))

Corvus hissed and and slammed his tail to the ground, sending rocks flying. A split appeared in the ground, the floor suddenly giving way and tumbling into a thousand foot chasm, the soot and plaster that had sealed the pit becoming dislodged. The shock wave loosened pieces of the walls around, sending great chunks of the delicate, ornate ceiling crashing to the ground. The chamber, that had only looked like a few hundred feet in circumference before, now fell away to reveal the true extent of the Catacombs. Whole towers were revealed as the layers of dust fell away around the central pillar on which Corvus perched, an eerie, coliseum-shaped necropolis long-buried in the dust and bones of its inhabitants. Corvus beat his feathery wings to disperse the fire. "You'll not cheat me twice, little one!" he said, hundreds of red-eyed, shrieking crows flying from his open wings to rush at the younger dragons.

"Shield's up!" shouted Phoenicia and a laser barrier popped up in front of them. Fireheart used his light to disperse the magic holding them in place. The fire explosion they used on Corvus flushed the dispersed disease cloud away to the now revealed city. "DIVE!" shouted Fireheart and they both flown down, hiding behind the towers. "What now?" asked Phoenicia. "Really big slingshot would be great, do you have any?" "I got pretty strong arm you know. What with it?" "If we can just push him away from the damn cure, we might be able to snatch it, i can fly pretty fast. i just didn't do it in a while." "Better than nothing." Phoenicia looked aound. "Now THAT is a rock." she said, pointing at a piece of the tower that has broke apart. "You can't lift that, that doesn't seem possible!" "Watch me, puny little boy." she winked and flown near the stone and started picking it up, heating it's lower surface to heat air under it. The flow of the hot air helped her to pick it up. "Where to?"
"Up, point at him, let me do the shooting."
"No problem here."
The two flown out of the shadow of the tower. Fireheart approached from distance, reaching sublight speed and smashing the stone, giving it good half of his kinetic energy. "Bingo." hee said when the stone took course directly on Corvus' side.

Dinara had finally dislodged the dragon skeleton from her back and stood ridged, trying to mentally shake off the memory. Then something caught her eye. A huge rock at least twice the size of her was hurtly for the black dragon. Though she guess what really caught her eye was the increasing blackness in the room. She saw it was all the little black birds swirling about. That is, she thought they were small. With a start she realized that each one had to be the size of a average dragon head which was two-to-three times the size of a regular crow. The mass was expanding and coming for all the dragons. Thinking fast she yelled to Gorn. "You think you can create a chain reaction static attack on the birds?" At the same time she made her little rink again and started to spin, exhaling a thick icy cloud at the same time. This made a miniature blizzard that she hoped would stop the birds from getting her.

The timing couldn't be worse. As Fireheart was heading for the cure, something unexpected happened. The temperature dropped rapidly, and with that his mood, but not just that. "Why now, why me?" He whispered as the cold was paraliysing him. Under normal circumstances, he could have stand this cold, but a large portion of his energy was keeping the disease from harming him. He slowed down to complete stop and started falling the long way down to the base of the tower. It took just few seconds. *thud* The impact blown away some dust and bones, making it impossible to see him clearly.
Phoenicia was looking at their plan being ruined. "Argh, if you want something done right, do it yourself!" she went after the cure, hoping that she won't be too late.

"You got it!" Gorn analyzed where the birds were, if he could hit one right in the middle of all of them, it would get the most birds. "Whoa who let the draft in?" He said as the temperature just dropped, the birds seemed to be going crazy from the drop, perfect. Now that they where unorganized Gorn would have a better chance of hitting the center with out one getting in the way. "THAT ONE!" he shouted blasting it, the chain reaction worked just as planned, one bolt of lightning turned into several coming from all directions off of the birds. "That should mess 'em up."

After she barely heard Gorn's response she waited a bit longer before stopping her rotation and miniature storm. She saw multiple things at once. First off, the plan had worked. Most of the birds were now plummeting out of sight, with a smell of burned flesh in the air. Secondly the birds weren't the only thing falling. Among the black was a mass of orange. "Fire!" Dinara launched herself off the edge after him. Wings close to her body she fell after him, using the pillars to push herself forward faster to catch up.

((Hurry up and get your arses kicked, will ya? XD Don't worry, I'm not actually trying to KILL you guys.))

"Tsk-tsk!" said Corvus as he leaped over the hurtling boulder with ease, flapping powerfully. The pillar, however, was turned to powder as the chunk of ceiling hit home. He snatched up the crystal cure as it fell and laughed, watching the rest of the pillar, and two of the young dragons, fall towards the earth. But that was not all. The pillar, though smashed, detected the cure was no longer balanced on its tip. Bright runes began to spread from its fractured top to the bottom, illuminating the room in a brief glow.
"Behold!" said Corvus, "Carakal, guardian of the Necropolis!"
The pillar shattered, engraved bits of stone flying everywhere, burying themselves in the walls of the pit. The socket-like windows of the ancient city seemed to moan with a non-existent wind. The ground shook, black spikes bursting from the ground, followed by a bleached ribcage, tail and limbs. Finally a head rose from the earth; or rather, several of them. Seven stark white dragon's skulls rose as if to taste the air. The creature's ribcage seethed, an absolute darkness seeping from it, with a pitch-black center that most certainly was its heart. Corvus cackled and winged towards it, perching precariously on the creature's central head, the cure clutched in one claw.
"Now, mortals, try to kill an enemy that is already dead!

((Poor heroes! Just one bad thing after the other, isn't it? XD Lol Corvus hax plz.))

Dinara had finally caught up with Fireheart, panting slightly from the exertion. Not a moment too soon either. They had gotten so far down that there wasn't much light reaching this far down. Dinara grabbed Fireheart beneath his arms and unfolded her wings to stop their decent. The strain of both the dragons stopping so fast was a bit painful but it worked. Next to get them out before more rubble came down and buried them alive. Dinara started the slower accent upwards back to the battle field. When she got there she was completely out of breath, breathing heavily. She set Fireheart one one of the few remaining platforms that remained. A lot more destruction had occurred while they were gone and it appeared as if the new monster was the one causing it.

Gorn's jaw almost dropped when he saw the power level of the thing. (OOC: it was over 9000!) "thats the second most powerful thing i've ever seen!" He blurted out. Quickly shaking his head he knew he had to distract the thing while Dinara got out with Fire. "This should calm you down." He put his hands together and charged up a huge lightning orb, then hurled it right at the creature.

"WOAAAAH!" barked Phoenicia, dodging two heads, flying right into the third, which smacked her all the way back. She landed near Fireheart and Dinara. "It!s official... We're SO screwed!" coughed up Phoenicia, wings and leg broken. Fortunately, her armor held them in place as a lath. Fireheart was slowly waking up. "Wha... What happened? It was like a stun spell. Ow, my head..." he started babbling, until he remembered where they are. He barrel rolled on his feet. "Ok, what now?"

[Midnightmoon]

"You shouldn't... be moving.. around...so fast... like that." Dinara mumbled. "I would usually say... for everyone to spit up... and talk a head... but that thing out numbers us... not to mention that other thing." She said louder. "pin point lazer maybe then. or maybe..." Dinara now looked around to Gorn, Fireheart and Pheonicia, taking in account their powers, then looked over to the dragon. "How about this. Fire, you scorch that thing as much as you can, though concentrate on a specific spot to weaken the armor. Gorn you help. Pheonicia, first I'm going to see if i can fix that leg a bit while you gather your strength. After I'm going to make a large ice disc so it'll amplify a flash that'll hopefully blind it. Then we'll need to find a way out of here." Dinara had been talking fast so she took in a deap breath. "That's the best I have. What about-"

A large head came crashing at them. Dinara winged up and over the head she blasted it with a ice beam, it didn't even notice the beam and kept going. Dinara was just balancing herself out in the still air when she was hit from above, driving her down back into the pit. She painfully fell and couldn't really move her wings at the shoulders. Gliding over to a pillar she latched onto that and started to climb back up, wincing all the way, tears of pain beading the ice.

(OOC: sorry I couldn't sound more original, just couldn't think of anything else that would go first. *shrug*)

Fireheart gave Dinara a lift back. "I'm sorry, i can't heal any of you even though i have the ability, the disease is magical and i risk infecting you too, if i already didn't." Fireheart looked at a rock. "DUH, I FEEL SO USELESS!" he shouted and broke it with his fist. "We lost this one. There is nothing more we can do, we need more power. Let's go!" he said and opened a portal, helping Phoenicia through. "Gorn, you might wanna get out as well, it ain't gonna be pretty if you remain alone here."

"I'll be there in a few." Gorn was about to teleport, when one of the heads smashed him into a wall. The others had left leaving only one target for the beast. "Oh your gonna regret that." Gorn was about to zap it when another head pinned him. "Um.......can we just call it a draw?"

Fireheart went trough the portal with wounded Phoenicia on his side. Right after he went trough, he pulled them aside and dropped down. "Who's up for a nap? I'd like to sleep few... years." he said, terribly exhausted, trying to absorb some energy from the sunlight. "I'm up for a medic." cried out Phoenicia.
Sol'Lux felt them immediately as they exited the portal. "Those stubborn @#$%^&*!!!" she whispered to Starlight. She doubted more explaining is needed and went right after their signature. When she found them, she landed and healed Phoenicia. "I am starting to doubt your competence. What were you thinking going there on your own? Would somebody tell me what happened?"

Dinara was right on their tails. She came out to see Sol'Lux tending to Pheonicia and Starlight glaring at her. "You ignorant hatchling!" She stalked forward. Dianara knew that it was only cuz she was worried. Dinara still winced. "Can I have some water so fix myself up at least before you chew me out?"
