"Right, sorry i forget that sometimes." He said to the fire dragon leading them to Phoenicia. She explained her plan to them. "So you're saying we stay here and keep the place safe, while you go off to give them to stuff...Yeah i don't like that. Remember what happened the last time you went off on your own? And that was just a scouting mission."

"Who said anything about alone? I'll take a squad and Sharon. She'll be taking back the families that fled before the disease. Have you seen the ghost cities? But those people were harmless and partners in trade, we may want them to be back. And while those on the continent slaughter themselves, we'll profit." she explained.

"So not only are we gonna win, but we're gonna get paid to do so? You thought of everything." He said with a smile. "Well as long as you have a few dragons with you I'm fine. So lets start this party." He said pointing to the items.

"Meh, i just want it all to be the way it was. If only i could bring dad back." she said with a sigh. "At least i've got you for all the trouble." she said and kissed his cheek. "OK people, you all know why you're here!" she said, walking over to the forge, "This is last chance to take it back. Understand that for as long as your power remains in the artifacts, your own supply will be limited, and while your maximum performance will be the same, you'll run dry shortly. If you have no objections, step into the circle right at this spot." she pointed to a hexagram in the circle around the furnace. "The spell i set up will allow us, one at the time, to share our powers, so watch out and don't laser somebody's head off. Begin." she said and took first of the artifacts. Another dragon stepped into the hexagram. She could feel the element of wind running through her. She put the bracelet into her hand and focused, mumbling the spell in Ancient. few lines drawn around her hand and spiraled into the bracelet as she passed the power onto the artifact. That went on six more times, without any causalities. She added another spells to all the artifacts. One allowed the wearer to fly, another to lit their normal weapons on fire, others promised increased speed, stamina, agility, breathe underwater, freeze water on touch, heal any wound and command the roots of trees. She also enchanted all with mind reading, control and assault spell, just in case things ever gone wrong. She would be able to control all nine of the recievers, she would be able to browse their memories, and to kill them all if necessary by mere thought, and essentially, she didn't tell anybody. "It's done."

"Sweet, so i guess you take those to the humans now. So how long is this all gonna take?" Gorn asked. "I mean, flying to another continent is not a one day thing."

"Flying? Seriously? Is that what you'd do?" she smiled and shown him her hand, holding a gem. She moved it in few quick motions and there were four between her fingers. "TO and FROM the continent i take a portal, i scavanged these from Bro's hidey hole i stumbled upon. The rest however is going to have to be by wing as i have no knowledge of the rerrain and no way to aim the portal. I'd say i'll be back in 5 days plus minus two. Don't worry, and keep the home safe. I'll be on my way, the sooner is this done the better. And no goodbyes, because we are seeing each other again soon, right?" she said and went to pack. She and her guard assembled on the roof of he fortress. "Simple job. You stay cloaked unless i tell you so. We'll also make a detour to the former base of the exiles." she said and took two of the gems. She waved her hands and sparks surrounded them in a flash of light. When they disappeared, they were at the continent, staring into a face of a terrified farmer. She lowered her head. "good man, which way to the nearest castle?" she asked. The farmer pointed into the direction and her flock took off.

Phoenicia decided not to raise any suspicion and so she planted the artifacts around the selected castles. After that was done, she sent dreams to the nine would-be warlords to lead them to the artifacts. A day after, the armies started recruiting, and on third day, the first battle was fought. The mind spell also allowed her to know that messengers were already sent for the mages. She sent her squad back home and went to the former continent base alone.
Phoenicia stepped down into the underground. There was moss and wild life everywhere, snakes, lizards, bugs. She ignored the disgusting animals and searched for magic. She seemed to find what she wanted and headed in that direction. Trouble she expected didn't wait for long. She found a hidden door and opened it. She stared at a portal gate, the one she was searching for before. She didn't understand why Fraziel missed it, but the dozen of insect like things could have something to do with it. They all looked at her with their six orange glowing eyes and slowly moved to her, balls of energy forming at their hands. They didn't speak, they just hissed. She powered up and jumped in the middle of them before the attacks hit her. She turned around, her claws lit up. She sliced one of them in half, but the rest were moving very fast. She shot a few of them, but the others seemed to adapt on her attacks. Allright, only six, i've gotta keep coming up with new stuff. she thought and let go of flaming sphere, hot enough to make the nearby rocks glow red, but the things had shield of their own. One of them lunged at her and to her surprise pierced her shield, stabbing her to the shoulder. Her jaw quickly retaliated and the head of the thing fell to the ground. Another creature attacked. She nano jumped behind it and slashed into few pieces. The other four took defensive positions around the portalgate. She looked at it and saw a huge legion of the insects ready to step through. She cooked up a spell and sent it their way. The creatures ducked and shielded. Blind fools. she thought and the spell hit the vortex of the portal, disrupting the connection. The creatures looked back at it and Phoenicia melted the rock above them, cooking them alive. Then she rushed against the gate and smashed it into bits. "Done, let's eat." she said and teleported back to the surface to take a sunbath and heal her wounds.
"Lord Dagon! A message from home! The lords are calling on your services. A war has begun on the continent!" said the messenger, waiting outside of the tent.

"WHAT? Let me see that." The messenger handed Dagon the letter. "....So that was their plan, well played dragons, you have won this round." Dagon walked out of his tent and sighed. "Give the order to pack up and head for home, but leave a few squads here, they will stay and build an actual base here. After we settle this so called war we will return, and next time i want a fortress to command in. Now stop wasting time and alert the men." Dagon threw the letter to the ground and started walking to the boats.

"Hey, Shy, come and see this!" Nive called excitedly, waving at Shyla from where she was perched at the edge of the crater. Shyla followed her quickly and her eyes widened. There really was a forest in the middle of this unforgiving frozen terrain, despite the fact that they were in the middle of the mountains. "This doesn't make any sense, Nive." Shyla said, peering at the motionless trees. "Let's go though. We need to check for signs of Shiran." And with that, she hopped over the edge and began to descend the slope.

Nive followed silently and swung herself over the edge, jumping from rock to rock with all the agility of a mountain goat. She came to a halt, arms windmilling, at the edge of a bubbling pool, where lichen was growing around the edges, steam rising from the trickling waterfalls that fed into it. "It's a hot spring!" said Nive in delight, perched, peering into the bottomless pool. Her eye was then caught by something unusual. "There's a trail." she asserted, her hand brushing the broken stem of a dogwood plant. The inner bark was still green and wet. "Someone was careless. Shyla?"

"A trail? Really?" Shyla said, following her sister with unerring accuracy. Sure enough, there was a trail, clumsly concealed like some five year old was trying to hide from his siblings. "It seems that the person who made this was either in a great hurry, an idiot, or this is some kind of trap. A half-blind nitwit who has never been trained in tracking could follow this. It's suspicious." she concluded, narrowing her eyes. It would be easy to follow this trail. Almost too easy. "We'll proceed with caution, Nive. Weapons out." Shyla said, letting her hidden wrist-blades slide out of their sheaths. She took a cautious step forward, and proceeded down the trail.

Disc on her arm, Nive trailed after Shyla, alert. She could feel a strange trace of hostile magic around her, but it hung in the air like the trails of a spider web, harmless and undone. As they proceeded down the trail Nive noticed a lumpish shape approaching, sprawled in the undergrowth. Her reckless curiosity ignited. She bowled past her sister and ran up to it, her shield held out in front of her, creeping up the last few feet cautiously. Ears pricked, she could her the sound of shallow breathing coming from the motionless figure. Very carefully she poked it with her foot. "Hey, Shy, come see this! I think he's asleep!" she called, puzzled.

"Asleep? You sure?" Shyla said, her brows furrowed. She walked over to the slumbering figure and gave it a harsh kick, her knives at the ready. The figure barely stirred. "Woah, he's really out of it." She bent down and pulled back the man's eyelids. "It's like he's been drugged or something. Magic, maybe?" She muttered, mostly just to herself, and shrugged her shoulders. Dropping the man back down onto the ground, Shyla stood up and gave the body another kick. This time there was a groan. "Hmm.... maybe if he wakes up we can extract information from him. Help me kick him, Nive." Shyla said, and began to kick the man.

"Take it easy, Shy!" said Nive in alarm. "What if he yells and there are more of them?" she she hissed. She bent over to pick up a weapon lying on the ground nearby. It was a bolas, wooden weights driven riddled with nails dangling at the end of the ropes, an exceptionally cruel way of grounding a flying foe. "We're in the right place." She grimaced.
