Name: Ariaka Race: Self-aware AI Gender: N/A, female voice and self reference. Current appearance: fs-online.4fan.cz/images/Ariaka3.pngConstruction: Ariaka is an independent AI, meaning she can transfer to any computer system that is good enough to run her consciousness. Her current shell is made of silicon-cell based technology. As such, she no longer relies on an external power source and has much greater abilities. Personality: Ariaka is haunted by her past, as she is built upon a consciousness of a war criminal. She only become different person because during her creation, the memories of the progenitor were lost and she had a 'clean slate'. Even though she restored the memories after some time, she didn't change, but is still afraid that one day she might. She also hates being alone, possibly as a result of occupying a ghostship before the crew awoke. She assimilated the battle programming of both the Mk II android and the Croatoan, making her protect her charges at the cost of her own function, but also more aggressive. Being based on a human consciousness, she is often driven by emotions if her rational part cannot supply a solution fast enough, and also thinks of herself as being alive. She has a hobby in spacecraft and weaponry. She also has extensive knowledge of various topics, both inherited from her creator and from the flagship's and explorer's databases. Some medical expertise. Doubles as the ship's mortician, as she maintains the cold locker. Those bodies gotta go somewhere. The Shis are amphibious arthropod-like aliens. Kind of like axolotl meets prawn shrimp. XD She can breath under water and in air, she just has to keep her fronds damp. (those pink things on the side of her face) Since the Shis language sounds like a bunch of hissing above water she's acquired a robotic implant that allows her to commucate with whatever other life forms she requires. An average Shis stands at about 9 feet not counting their manes, but they usually remain hunched over with their heads at about 6-7 feet, which is what is comfortable for them, but she'll lower herself to eye level when communing with smaller races. Edit: The Shis were sea-dwellers and spent most of their time at depths of 80-500 feet, so their twilight vision and resistance to pressure is higher than a human's. They possess a tapetum lucidum. While amphibious the Shis need to keep their bodies damp in order to breath above water. Kiruza has counter-acted this by wearing a device that transfuses oxygen directly with her thoracic blood pump. Shis blood is fuschia in color. When angry their eyes flush bright pink and their thoracic pump go paler. The opposite happens when they're frightened or embarassed. Other than that they don't really seem to show a wide range of emotions. Their planet was mysteriously destroyed at some point in the past, how long ago or for what reason is unknown to the crew. Their home planet, Inemitas, is diverse, but its native inhabitants usually make their homes along the fjords that carve their way through the rocky landscape. The Ceretai are physically and biologically similar to humans, and several colonies of human settlers are scattered across Inemitas. Female Ceretai lack mammary glands, and all members have four slit-like nostrils that can be sealed shut. Most Ceretai are thrillseekers, and due to the limitations of their anatomy, they achieve their neckbreaking speeds with the aid of gravity. Thankfully, nature has thought to provide them with armor-plated skulls. This doesn't prevent concussions or other traumatic brain injuries; it just means their heads stay in one piece. Ceretai usually travel barefoot. It is considered a rite of passage for young planet-born Ceretai to "ski" down the rock-tumbled slopes of the largest valley they can find. Those who survive often return to the same location over and over again. For all of their "primitive" traditions, the Ceretai are an advanced humanoid species capable of space travel, and their political representatives tend to be more withdrawn than most. There is a significant divide between "spaceborn" and "planetborn" Ceretai. Spaceborn are generally more reserved and fashion- and culture-conscious, while planetborn are more outgoing and practical. Character's Appearance: Like most Ceretai, Rucha is slightly taller and lankier than the average human. Her skin is a warm gray, with speckled green markings on her shoulders and back. Instead of hair, several layers of hard plates curve over the top of her skull. Ceretai feet are longer and broader than a human's, with hooked claws that are basically used as emergency brakes. Unlike most members of her species, Rucha's claws have not been worn down by years of use on rocky slopes. The soles of her feet and palms of her hands are covered in miniscule ridges that fold smooth for normal walking and handling, but can be opened instantly for increased traction. Her eyes are brown. Skills: It's evident that Rucha knows how to use a gun. They're one of the few things she can instantly recognize. Something about most computers seems familiar, too. Her fingers twitch at the sight of either. If she hadn't spent goodness-knows-how-long in a stasis tank, she would probably be capable of moving faster than the average human, like most of her race. She is nearsighted in her left eye, a problem that would normally be corrected by surgery. As it is, her firing style reflects that she has been trained to overcome her lopsided vision. Personality: Apart from not remembering a blinking thing? She spends very little time considering things, and instead prefers to rush in headlong. Courageous and honest, but also reckless and slightly impatient. Okay with taking orders from others, since it spares he the trouble of making difficult decisions herself. She finds hairy things to be slightly creepy.

Name: Le-hila (Lee) Race: Lalungil Gender: Male Age: 29 (earth years) Appearance: Long ears (like donkeys but now fur), stiff black hair, dark "purpl-ish" complexion, solid almost black eyes. His hands consist of 3 single jointed fingers (not including knuckle) that turn into a strait claw after the joint. The thumb is slightly more towards the center of the palm compared to a humans hands. Legs are double jointed that end in (again) 3 short toes with round blunt claws. Scouting/ survival Other: It would seen that he can see thermal energy due to a second eyelid. He has to wear tinted goggles to see without strain in normal light. Hydro-Phobic (anything deaper then his hips and definitely anything covering his head). Race: His race race lives on a swampy type planet which thick cloud cover means that even during the middle of the day the light is only as strong as early morning on earth, and at night it's pitch black. They're mainly fishers (using their long strait claws to pierce fish like a spears, seen by the thermal vision) but they also eat plants found in the swamps and sometimes insects (which some fancy). They acquired space travel when another race discovered their planet, and the race quickly learned and expanded on the technology. (note: will put up character pic, later)

XD Kri-Yakap are a pioneering species of arthropod-like aliens from a dry and dusty planet, Gotka. The planet orbits a larger planet, the Gevotka, approximately twice the mass of Jupiter. This planet in turn orbits the sun, though at a distance that leaves Gotka in twilight. Some several hundred million years ago a nearby star went supernova, killing almost all life on the planet save a few subterranean species, including the ancestors of the Kri-Yakap. The Kri-Yakap navigate and communicate via echolocation, and use a variety of ultrasonic pulses and waves to make their way around. Their entire bodies, especially their limbs, are covered in sound-sensitive cells. A photosensitive band with 2 types of cells around their body allows them to detect electromagnetic radiation in the radio and infrared frequencies. The infrared detectors remain at fixed frequencies; their radio-wave detectors, however, can be trained on a wide spectrum of frequencies. As each Kri-Yakap has their own unique set of frequencies within a certain range --which they use to call out to others--, their "eyes" are usually trained to receive that range of frequencies, however they can focus their vision to receive or block out a broad range of frequencies, including that of stellar bodies and background radiation. For a long time the Kri-Yakap thought the sky was speaking nonsense at them. Kri-Yakap usually stand around 4 1/2 feet but they emote by bobbing around alot so they can stand on their tiptoes to reach over 6 1/2 feet, or crouch down till their bellies touch the ground. It was brought to the outer galaxy by probes sent there. It nearly instantly consumed the research base where the probes were being examined. Reports indicate that nearly everyone on the station died of fear. Worse, some ships were entirely missing. It was presumed that they simply went 'home' - back to the core. What records remained on the mysteriously malfunctioning computers indicate that the probes brought very little extra mass indistinguishable from collected interstellar dust, suggesting it may be single cell organism, or no organism at all. How does it survive the harsh conditions of the galactic core is a mystery as well, though given the number of stars and black holes in the area, it might be possible the beast draws energy directly from them or has a cyst stage. OT: We need a fear inducing factor here ;D |

Their species is strongly matriarchal, led by a singular Queen and her female auxiliaries. Intelligence is highly valued among the Kithwari. Many of the Kithwari elite are genetically optimized to suit their professions. They live in highly organized hives segregated according to the culture's rigid gender hierarchy, and prefer mild, humid climates, being coldblooded. They are an advanced and respected species, being among the first races to achieve space travel. The Kithwari tend to have a subtle haughtiness in regards to other races, and guard their culture carefully. However, they are stringent in the selection of their emissaries. The civility of Kithwari diplomats is legendary. *For personal reference, mostly:Culture: Males make up the majority of the population (84%), and are completely black, from carapace to iris. They are classified by the length of their antennae: longest horns (Dayakai - 35%) are worker drones, most strongly affected by the pheromone.
