Vanguard: Into the Abyss

Akari bared her teeth in the demons face but backed off once he was contained. When she did so the demon seemed to regain his composure with a disgruntled sniff, "What company you keep, young one, and seams you have no more manners then the rest, but at least you're being more civilized- to a point." He addressed Hashin. "Why do you want to know its name?! It must be dealt with!" Akari hissed. The demon ignored her and continued with a smile, "Call me Mallory. Now about that pulse you say? Why, I haven't fogiest." He grinned at the obvious lie.

[Morty]

"I thought demons were supposed to be good deceivers." said Daedalus, disappointed. "Akari, the demon called you a priestess, didn't it? Perhaps you could show it the meaning of the word pain." he said, with faint amusement in his voice.

((I think Hashin was asking Loki's name..? =pp ))

"We say what we wish, and I have absolutely no wish to disclose any information unpaid." "While I'd love to pay this one much pain at this point, my goddess and my own moral code deam i cannot. Come. It wastes our time. We solve the darkness that allowed this creature into the world. Weaver fraudis et messor animarum," She flexed a clawed hand as she readied a slash, something she was sure of herself to do in this form. "Heyheyhey, no need to be like that. We can all be nice!" The demon stamered hastily, trying to squerm away. Akari continued unhindered, ",ego pro Dea et humanitatem, dimittam vestra sua essentia physica plano. Primus in pace vestra relinquite." At the last word she whipped out her hand. Her claws sunk into the demons skin as if it was wax, then its neck crumpled under her blow like a pumpkin.

In a second, Hashin was tied up in a cocoon of vines[blue]{90 mana left}[/blue]. "Noone tells me what to do." He explained as he went visible again. As the demon went down, Loki approached the corpse with a chant on his lips. "gimme!" he said as he finished. Something that looked like black smoke and sparks emerged from the corpse and flown towards Loki's hand, sinking in. "Hehe, this day is turning out to be good."

Daedalus looked at Loki in some discomfort. The bizarre dragon made him rather uncomfortable, and these last acts weren't helping. "Well, that was.. disappointing." he said, nudging the demon's still form. All of a sudden the body began to shrivel up, curling in on itself like a dry leaf. The creature's skeletal frame poked through the taut skin then crumbled, leaving a dry, bony husk. Finally, a green fire swept the corpse, until all that was left were a few scraps of burnt hide skittering over the sand as they were blown by the wind.
Daedalus moved to inspect the cave. "It's certainly deep," he said, swishing his paw around in the shallow water flooding the cave's rocky entrance. While the cave quickly descended into darkness, and the aquatic dragon had the impression of a vast lake residing beneath the island. Vaguely, he felt the presence of a deep, flooded shaft.
"You were right, dark one. There is indeed a passage there, though it is filled with water." he said, frowning. In truth, he didn't really want to go any further, but something about the sussurating darkness drew his attention. "Looks like this is the end of the line. Unless... I do know a spell that would allow you to breath water like I do, but..." he cringed somewhat upon glimpsing the cackling-mad dark dragon. Quickly, he looked away again so as not to appear rude. "You know what, never mind. It was nice meeting you. Especially you." he said pointedly to the silver dragoness. Then he turned and started to walk back towards the water, hesitating briefly.

Akari bared her teeth on last time at first the corpse and then at the black dragon that stole the residual demon magic. "What do you mean 'nice meeting you all'? We must continue. Surely you will help us get down there." Giving the ashes a wide berth Akari came followed Daedalus to the dark shallows deaper into the entrance. "What is this spell you speak up?"

[Morty]

"It's a blessing of Nautilus," said Daedalus begrudgingly, "Or the sirens, it's hard to tell. Basically, I have to kiss you." he said wryly, gauging the dragoness with a smirk on his face. "Ooor I could bend the water away from your head so you could breath, but that would require concentration. If I were to be distracted..." he trailed off suggestively, turning his eyes to the dark water of the cave for emphasis. "So, what'll it be? Sink or swim?" He could already feel he was going to regret this when it came to the dark dragon's turn.

((Wow this idea was more awkward than I thought it would be.))

(ooc: aww jeez I know! but what choice does she have? I don't want her ending up like King Fredrick of Germany. -he controlled a huge crusading army and steamrolled south through other contries to Jerusalem but it all fell appart when the tripped and fell in the river -drowning- going through the mountains. the son couldn't keep the army together and most went home. not saying that Akari is that important a character)

Akari leaned back and gave him a look, eye him up and down. "Truely? Bah, but what kind of choice is that. Of course I choose this blessing of your God or deity. I would rather not drown because of your lack of will and attention to prorities." Akari was a little unconfertable at the prospect of "kissing" Daedalus, unsure of how it would even work, but she was more annoyed then anything. "Well come on." She said hurridly, waiting for him to make the first move.

((Though she is arguably the most valuable, being specially trained to fight demons haha. :B ))

With little ceremony, he dipped his hand in water from the pool, and drew the spiral of Nautilus on her forehead. Careful not to bump heads and make a fool of himself, he kissed her lightly in the center of the marking. The spot glowed blue for a second, then faded. "See for yourself." he said, moving out of the way so she could test the enchantment in the water, but really he was just moving so that she didn't see the blood rush to his face.

Akari blinked in mild surprise. The way the other dragon had actived it seamed like the ritual would be more complex and personal. "Never look a gift horse in the mouth." she chidded her self and quickly trotted deaper into the water. She jumped out into it when the surface reached her wings and sunk beneath the surface. At first she held her breath as long as possible, before with a burst of bubbles exhailed the foul air and inhaled clean water as if it were normal. She gave a hiccup in surprise and paddled back up. "It works! Come on, continue so we may go on!"

"haha, i think i'll leave this one out. I don'T care if i can breathe, i hate water period." Loki said with a sad face, "And apparently this guy and SOMEONe need to get a room, and i do not intend to be it." he said for himself, turning from the cave back to where he felt the darkness. He wondered to himself if he had enough power to dig a whole new cave along the existing one.

[Zetherus]

A very loud sigh could be heard as Hashin struggled to get the vines wrapped around him off. As he figured he just cant cut through the vines, he arose into the sky in sudden seconds followed by a funnel of wind ripping the earthly spell to pieces. The wind dragon landed in front of Loki with a snarl of hate and growled as his eyes were locked on the earth dragon, "What the hell was that for?" In the corner of Hashin's eye he could see some ritual going, as well as kissing which just completely made him confused about the whole situation he was getting himself into.

Akari growled. Her respect for the dark one had just dropped a few notches for his continued resistance. "I thank you greatly for you gift, Daedalus, but if you will all continue to stand around like pigeons then the entrence that let that demon in will only weaken or open further. I cannot let that happen and so will continue onwards with or without you." Upon reflex Akari took in a deap breath before driving bellow again.

(ooc: either you people help or Akari is going to have a lot of injuries by the time she reaches the portal )

"Oh, for the love of... You're acting like I have bad breath or something." said Daedalus, rolling his eyes. "Now, are you gonna stand there on the shore forever, or are you gonna let me kiss you? Life is all about sacrifices." he said, with a look at Loki.

Hashin shrugged when he heard the dragoness speak and vanish into the water. He looked back at Loki one last time before walking toward the entrance of the deep and dove in forming a shield of air around himself. The air dragon popped back out of the water and landed on the shore with a clever grin as he vanquished the air shield. "I can form a second shield around you and keep you dry of the water just you better not pull a stunt like that again! If you do then find your own way down, otherwise come on," he closed his eyes then air began to swirl around him and surround the earth dragon like a drafty glass shield of funneled wind, "Don't want to be left out of all the fun right?"
