Athvesa plunged into the gorge, his white wings pulled close to his armored body. The ice dragon pushed off of the canyon wall, slashing at a small tent as he sprang down to the ground. Ignoring the scattering civilians, his sea green eyes scanned the burning campsite, looking for one flame among many. A sudden rush of heat and a blossoming scarlet inferno just ahead drew his gaze to the source. Maela! Southwestern end of the canyon! Do you see him? Maela grinned from her position midway down the side of the ravine, shielding her eyes from the sudden light of the swelling blaze. That's a fire spell all right. Time to check out the elf who managed to land a blow on the Master. She released her grip on the jagged stone and dropped alongside her bond. A split second later, the demoness had caught an incoming sword swipe on the haft of her halberd, wrenching the weapon from an injured air elf's hands. All around, the weakened rebel warriors had roused themselves, forming tight defensive formations around the panicked noncombatants. "Time for the second wave," Athvesa remarked gleefully, sending out the mental signal to the force above. "Ready?" Maela asked, spotting a break in the battle that extended all the way to the targets, a male fire elf and his bond. "Absolutely." Maela pulled herself onto the water dragon's back just as Athvesa surged through the gap, an ice spell building in each hand.

Sid was looking for the person who had shot at him when he stumbled on something, the second wave. There was a whole group of demons that hadn't even gone yet waiting, at least they were waiting, but now they were getting ready to charge. "M-Maruk there's another wave, and i think its about to charge." Maruk had gone to protect the others who where trying to protect the civilians, he had his hands full at the moment and another wave would not be good. "We need to retreat, Sid, you need to open up a path." "WHAT!?!!" "There is no way we can win this. If im correct the enemy will have cut off all ways of escape and can see anyone trying to leave. But you just found the whole second squad without being seen right? Once they leave head farther up and find our best way out, once you do that go and kill all demons guarding it." "But i can't..." "WE DONT HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION! Even this plan has a really low chance of success but we have to try." "........ok, ill do it." Sid watched as the other demons blasted out of the forest at the elves, taking a deep breath he ran higher up. He got up far enough to see a narrow path way, it wasn't too far from where they were. It was big enough that all the elves could get through, but small enough that the demon army would have to go in in smaller groups, making it easier to fight them if they followed. Only problem, they had about 5 archers guarding it. "Ok, lets see if you can do this." Sid started talking to himself. "Go up, take out the archers, alert Maruk so he can get the others out, then run like hell and hope no demon sees you." Sid started sneaking up on an archer. "I hope this works."

"Steady.. Steady.." muttered Jack, trying to get a clear shot at the water elf through the telescope. "Our turn!" Lulu bellowed, dropping from the cliff face as soon as she heard the command for the 2nd wave. "WAAAAAAAAH LULU SLOW DOOOOWN!" yelled Jack, clinging to one of her horns for dear life. "WAAAUUU-- Oh, we're okay." he said blankly as Lulu banked and beat her wings powerfully, scattering the panicked masses. "I was about to shoot that guy, Lulu. Could have given me some warning!" whined Jack, teeth chattering. "No talking. Just killing." said Lulu flatly, sweeping her tail in an arc through the crowds of refugees; soldiers and civilians alike. "It seems such bad sportsmanship..." sighed Jack, holding tightly to Lulu's horn as she reared and breathed fire into the crowd, wreaking havoc with her heavily armored tail. He managed to hop off her head as she stood up, hopping onto a narrow ledge some way up the cliff face. Drawing his knife, he quickly dispatched a rebel archer that had taken up camp on a rocky outcrop. He grinned as he spotted the water elf from earlier. He aimed the blowdart carefully (loaded with a sleep-dart) and fired. ((I'll post with Moria when she's needed. Just don't know how to.. introduce her, yanno. <'D))

Usually Pyhros and Saratheen would fight separate battles while still covering each others backs, though this time around they could do no such thing. Both were injured and tired. So instead they switched tactics and took seemingly random turns wearing down then killing each individual opponent as a pair. They came across a few enemys who were more lethal then any normal demon. These vile humanoids took more out of them and each one left the pair mentally and physically more exhausted then the last. "Shimmy left!" Saratheen yelled mentally. Reflexively Pyhros lunged left as far as he could, rolling upright with the momentum.

Maela slowly stood in the saddle, tensing her legs as she braced against Athvesa's sides. When the fire elf dove to one side, the demoness swung herself from her mount, black cloak billowing as she flashed her wings open. She slid to a halt several feet from Pyhrros with one hand pressed against the ground, the other drawn back to attack.
------
Athvesa continued his charge at the fire dragoness, bringing his right hand up in a luminous blue arc as he prepared to launch the ice spell.

Wincing Pyhros was up again, just catching himself from stumbling. Spinning on the balls of his feet he was facing his new opponent within seconds, sword up and between them.
Saratheen hissed at her new opponent, blazing yellow eyes flicking between the blue charge and the charging blue dragon. She shifted around in anticipation, wings coming forward at bit at the ready.

Athvesa released the building spell in a ray of ice directed towards the fire dragon, hoping to disarm her for a moment. His left hand glowing blue, he lunged forward in a slash aimed at her chest.
------
Maela grinned underneath her hood, pulling her wings tight against her body before she dipped suddenly, slashing at the fire elf's legs in an attempt to gauge his current strength. If he's still able enough to dodge, then I'm going all-out.

Pyhros stumbled back, walking over a body. When the new enemy barely missed he slashed down on her dive.
Saratheen made a weak jump which she enhanced with a flap of her wings, giving her enough lift to dodge the beam. it was so close that she could feal the icy current on the tips of her claws. Landing awkwardly on a wounded back leg she tried to right herself. But when she saw the incoming slash she stopped and let herself fall. Instead of the intended target, assuming it was her heart, it skimmed her outer wing, barely breaking the surface. Non the less, the chilling cut made her snarl. Lashing her tail like a javolin she attempted to ward off the ice dragon long enough for her to get up.

Athvesa sprang back, noting the dragoness' injuries with a pleased expression. He crouched lower to the ground, spreading his glimmering wings slowly as he watched Saratheen intently.
------
Maela twisted abruptly from under the incoming sword slice, the blade catching the edge of her left wing, but fortunately not meeting flesh. Leaping back, she made a swift stabbing motion, hoping to catch the sword blade in the hook of the halberd and twist the weapon from the fire elf's hands. At that same moment, she brought her leg up in a high kick aimed at Pyhrros' head, her lashing tail ready to strike in the follow-through. Although the series of attacks put her in an extremely unbalanced position, it was extremely likely that at least one blow would land, and the injured elf was unlikely to last longer than she could.

Saratheen snorted in frustration. This youngling was taunting her and she did NOT like it. Tail up to counter a attack, wings folded close for defense, Saratheen got up stiffly. She huft, exhailing a faint mist of black smoke. Bracing her legs she glared at the ice dragon in the eye, still smoking, then let loose a flood of fire very similar to the spell Pyhros had used that first time.
Pyhros made a quick desision. He dropped his sword and rolled with the kick delivered to his head. The enemy's foot still collided mind you, just not with the force it originally had. None the less Pyhros was seeing double when he hit the ground. All most as soon as he hit he rolled away from a counter attack. When he quickly got up a few feet away he gave himself a quick shake to disperse the double number of enemys. That didn't do much and only made the pounding in his head pound harder. Forgetting about trying to clear his less-then-perfect vision Pyhros concentrated on what his plan was. Clapping his hands together, back strait, he whispered a few words of a spell and when he released the stance he had two flame whips at the end of each hand.

Athvesa had been planning to leap and attack from above, but the dragoness' sudden spell incited him to act sooner than planned. He beat down hard with his wings, rocketing into the air and quickly drawing an orb of freezing water in his foreclaws that hit the flames with an explosion of blinding white steam. The water spell had been made hastily, and the resulting blast was hotter than he had anticipated. The snowy dragon caught most of the gust beneath his right wing and was sent careening to the left, where he rolled again to the ground and slowly clambered to his feet. Athvesa exhaled slowly, cooling the air before him as he estimated his opponent's location. It's better that this mist stays here, he thought, slowly circling the area. My coloration gives me the advantage. He summoned another spell, concentrating this time, and pulled the minute ice crystals into the razor-thin wings of a wraithlike bird, ready to lash out at the slightest movement.
------
Maela hesitated for only a second, trying to appear curious about the fire elf's spell as she smiled widely beneath the hood of her cloak, pointed teeth glistening. Behind her back, she slid the green vial into the hollow in the head of the halberd, flicking the small door closed with one finger. Sliding back into a normal stance, she watched his motions carefully, preparing to duck or retreat as needed.

Sid was about to grab the archer when he stepped on a branch, the archer turned immediately and fired. Sid jumped to the side as the archer pulled out a sword and sliced at him. Luck came once more when another blow dart came and hit the archer instead of him. But that was all the luck he had, the other archers saw him and were forming up to take him down. "I have to get in close, lets hope this works." He charged running straight at them trying to keep his head covered. When they fired he rolled dodging the arrows, quickly getting back up he pulled his axe off his back. Its head smashed to the ground from its weight as he ran dragging it behind him.
---------------------------
Targus went out of the room and sighed. "So," Agate asked by the door. "How did it go?" "Fine, it seems that when injected straight into the brain it takes longer for it to spread. so while their minds are changed into that of a demons their body remains the same for a long time." "So i guess we better tell Amber, do you know why it might take so long?" "What do i look like, a medic? i dont know everything." Targus walked to the room Amber was in and knocked on the door. "Is it safe to come in or is there another demon meeting going on in there."

Saratheen looked about cautiously. The quick counter to her blast had resulted in a thick fog rolling over their immediate area, almost making her blind. For the first few second she tried to locate the blue dragon by hearing him, but the ongoing fight around them was making too much of a racket. Smell was out of the question too. So Saratheen was left with her last option. Stretching her wings she was up and above the clouds in seconds, each flap causing the icy cut she received earlier to sting. "Takes the weight off my leg anyway." she thought as she searched for her enemy.
Pyhros lashed out with one of whips while keeping the other close at hand (OOC: not intended, lol). The flames sizled in the smoke that erupted from his left as it billowed around them.
------
"If you define a meeting as one lone halfling then you better run for your life in fear." Amber mumbled. "Come in Targus." As the two walked in there was a pounding down the hall. Seconds later a out of breath young earth elf can skidding around the door frame. "General Carnell... has received a report... The missing team... has been sighted...and are... under attack... He wants your... input on what...action to take." "Well it's obvious isn't it? We have a team to rescue. Tell my second to ready teams one and some volunteers. Targus, you and Agate stay here, we don't want to blow your cover." "Suit up Firen. I'll meet you at the entrance." With a huff the elf straitened, "Yes Ma'am!" before running off to relay the orders.

Athvesa whirled at the sudden rush of air created by Saratheen's wings, but saw nothing but curling wisps of steam where the dragoness must have once stood. Growling, he released the eagle he had sculpted from the ice crystals, setting the construct on a straight path through the mist, and then spread his own glimmering wings. The white dragon crouched, his legs bunching beneath him as the cooling steam faded. He shot towards the smoke-filled night sky and turned to face the elder dragoness. ------ Maela ducked, dipping her shoulders towards the ground as she retreated nimbly a few steps, the flame whip cracking just feet above her head. Even so, she could still feel the searing heat on the tips of her ears, and she lowered her dark head even further. The second the warmth had vanished, however, the demoness leapt into the air at Pyhrros, the tip of her halberd aimed down at him and her wings spread. ( OOC: Sorry that they haven't taken any real hits yet, promise they will if the battle goes on much longer. )

Saratheen looked around with sharp eyes for the blue dragon, clear eyelids wiping her eyes every few seconds to clear the smoke that was accumulating. Every once and a while a different dragon would become clear or would even fly by her. If any were a enemy then she would lash out at it. Then a few minutes later the blue dragon was flying up to her left. Rotating her her wings in their sockets she turned without moving a from her position much. "Persistent aren't ya." She mumbled. Without another work she flew forward speedily, colliding with the dragon. "Saratheen!" Pyhros was in trouble. Saratheen tried to break away to get back to her rider.
He didn't see much, his vision still blurry, but from what he did see allowed him to stumble back again. He lashed out with his other flame whip while he retracted the right. He missed. "Kassa." All those long fights with little break between them as well as long tireless nights were catching up, and catching up fast. Not to mention that the spell from earlier cost a bunch of energy and the the amount to sustain this one, however small, didn't help. "Saratheen!"
