Lazy shading is lazy, but I'm glad to have got it done faster than usual.

...And just now I'm noticing all the things wrong with it. Oh well.

awesome pic kauria. and don't worry about the shading, it's great. definately showing muscle there with it. perfect colours (in my mind). in my opinion the only thing I find that I'm not fond of is the fact that her head is more of a crocodile then t-rex (long vs round). this is only personal preference and speculation, fan-art can be whatever the artist wants it to be.

I wasn't drawing with a ref at all for the beginning, and by the time I pulled up your picture to check the colors, I had grown a little too attached to the current head design to make myself change it.

Lazy background, I couldn't think of what to put. xD
In any case, there are a lot of liberties I took with the original design. And some anatomy problems that I'm far too lazy to fix past the sketching stage.
Her sword's a bit of a mash-up of Amber's sword as shown here and Pyhrros' sword here. And then some.
She's got bangs because her original design had some, I just exaggerated the feature. I wasn't sure about where her burn scars should go, so I just left them out.
Cloaks are awesome, so I gave her one. It's ripped along the edges 'cause a straight hem looked weird.
There had been a potion bottle attached to her belt, but it drew too much attention, so I cut it out of the final picture.

In terms of anatomy, her hips and legs are a bit too narrow, something I was aware of even while sketching. Every time I tried to fix it, it came out ugly, so I just kept it as is and hoped it wouldn't show too much once I was done.
Her shoulders look a little funny because the clothes largely covered up the perspective on the shoulders of the base sketch, making her neck look off-center.
Aaand she's apparently left-handed. Maybe she's just relaxing.

...I'm actually rather proud of it. Really.

and you have complete right to act that way. what I adore about your peice is the accuracy, the epicness on how you did the clothes (drawn really accurately as if she was there), and the sword (design and angle accuracy).

And don't worry about the back ground, the main focus is amber not the background. the background only serves in setting a mood and giving more detail to the over all picture and I think her expression accomplishes that. (btw: love her face too, looks great proportion wise and (again) accurate.)
