Okay, I don't know or care if you guys celebrate Christmas, but I hope you all had a wonderful day anyhow. Merry Christmas.

This is what I've been working on for the past . . . six days:
(Woah, that's like a new record or something for me) (EDIT: Scratch that, according to my computer, Saratheen only took two days. But I deny this.)

It's of Jack, and I certainly hope people figured that out on their own. A present for Morty, since I have posted no fanart for you.
(Or Osm, or Nohiki, but that's beside the point )

And now for the inevitable explanation:
When I saw Morty's chibi of Jack (), my first thought was, "But what about Sophitia? D: " And well, I think the rest might just make sense.
It did occur to me about halfway through that the new knife might just be an upgrade on Sophitia's design, but where's the fun in that?

I had originally planned a piece far more detailed and complex and awesome, with an actual background, but I decided to challenge myself and see what I could achieve by nine o'clock Christmas night.
In any case, this is my thanks to Morty for the fantabulous EB chibis. (I eagerly await the finished set!)

I just felt like drawing energy one day, and Dark had just posted these new characters, so I borrowed one to be my guinea pig.
It . . . turned into something of a project, but I'm glad to have it done.^*

First things first: this is going to be massive. Sorry.
Second things second: It's finally done. I sketched the drawing underneath this in July. Woohoo!

In any case, this picture is probably dedicated to what is still probably one of my absolute favorite bits of roleplay on this site.



"Starlight followed Shya. When the pillars came in sight she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, listening to the wind blowing gently around her. She took another breath and this time breathed out with frost glistening in the air. Starlight still had her eyes closed. She breathed out another breath of frost. the floated back and stuck to her scales, some falling off to leave a trail behind her. she started to slowly swirl, dip and dive gently. Any onlooker would have though her to be dancing, but really, she was only flying as a free spirit. She opened her eyes, grinned at Shya and shot up like a glistening arrow to the stars.

"Shya smiled as Starlight's frosts spiraled through the air, her grin growing stronger as the ice dragon looped gracefully through the midnight sky, her clear blue scales turning to a sparkling white. I can see why she's called Starlight... Shya thought as the glittering ice crystals hung in the air before her like miniature stars. She exhaled, her warm breath melting the trail of snowflakes.
It's such a pity that the beauty of ice isn't permanent.
Starlight whipped past her and up into the dark sky, the near-full moon reflecting off of her spine and wings. She looked so wonderfully full of life that a laugh escaped Shya's mouth, and she found herself following the ice dragon skywards, weaving around the streams of frost. Trails of smoke rolled off her wings, glowing in the silvery light. She let her own burning spirit guide her flight, one different from Starlight's, but still leading into similar slow dives and gentle climbs, gradually getting faster.

"Starlight noticed Shya after a while and came over to dance with her. They danced parallel, leaving a beautiful trail of frost and white smoke.

"Shya spotted Starlight and sped up, her trails of smoke arching over the arena. She smiled and doubled back around, twisting as she returned to the ice dragon.
Her chest hurt slightly from so much flying, but something inside her just wanted to dance as long as she could. But she knew better.
Once again flying alongside Starlight, Shya gestured to the silvery ground, indicating that she was tired.

"Starlight looked over and nodded. Next she looked to the ground to find out how high they were. And then lastly folded in her wings in and began to free fall nose first to the pillars. When she was closer she opened her wings wide. They strained just a bit, then landed her softly on top of one of the pillars."
