EB p.2 The Dark Times

"Whoever was your teacher taught you well, earthling, but sadly you do not have the other half of you here, but i DO!" shouted Ignis, calling on Odin's power. She was suddenly entirely surrounded in flames, heat in the corridor increasing dramatically. She leaped forward and touched Targus' sword, heating it enough to cause severe blisters if touched. She landed behind Targus and swung her elbow behind her, hoping to hit.

Targus stopped right in front of the wall of fire, then felt his sword get hot. "your gonna use elemental powers? very well then." Targus ducked down and touched the ground, he could now see anything that was touching the earth, and seeing as they were under ground. He kicked back with both his legs smashing her in the face. "Im a smith, lady. Im used to working with furnaces for days on end. Oh wait, i forgot to introduce myself, the names Targus."

Ignis landed good ten meters away. "I knew that already!" she said and got up, "Argh, this is a complete waste of my time!" barked Ignis, turning her heat off and reverting to her normal appearance. "For the moment, we are too evenly matched. We need new battlefield! Let's see who's tougher inside!" said Ignis, pointing to the corridor leading to the pub. "Interested?"

"Drinking? Your asking me if im interested in drinking? I thought you said you knew me. Oh well." Targus walked up to the entrance then stopped and snickered. "I just realized, a hot girl is asking me to have a drink with her. Sure your not the hot most people think but the term still applies."

"Watch your mouth, you living museum of the genetic pool of various species!" hissed Ignis, back to her regular mood. She'll be happy to joke later, but so far, they are still in the "fight." She stopped in the middle of the step. "HEY, BOZO! What do you mean by 'the term STILL' applies? I AM the hottest girl on this base in BOTH ways! You better watch your mouth!" she said, pointing at him and then continuing.
They got to the pub and took seats. "Waiter! Start pouring!" she yelled over the room. The waiter brought six shot glasses full of drinks. Ignis had a look at Targus. "COME ON, do you know who's sitting at this table?" The waiter was back ith other twenty in few seconds. "Now we're talking." she said and took one glass. "To the death!" she said and emptied the glass. "Your turn!"

"I was hoping so." He said and emptied one as well.

An hour later Agate was still looking for Targus, he hadn't seen him since the went to eat. Then he heard a THUD, then another, they both came from the. "Oh no, please tell me hes not." Agate went into the pub to find both Targus and another lady passed out, the table and floor around them was full of empty shot glasses. At first, Agate was surprised that Targus hadn't won, then turned around shaking his head. "Wait till Amber hears about this. She is going to explode."

Amber had gotten a few hours sleep before getting up again. She never really got much of it since that day 2 years ago but it never really affected her working condition. "Status report." She thought with a yawn. Firen grumbled sleepily, then responded, getting the information from other dragons in the same room and relaying it back to Amber (all the dragons shared for the time being). He finished off saying. "And the Cooks are grumbling again." "Do I want to know why?" "A certain halfling has gone and drunk 3 barrels with a lady friend." Amber was finished dressing at this point and was putting her hair in the usual tight poney-tail. Giving one last tug she said with a sigh, "I'll be there." She took her weapons and secured them to their appropriate places as she headed out the door. Amber was at the messhall in a few minutes with Agate and Firen waiting at the doorway. "Where are they?" Firen nodded to the two. Amber marched over and grabbed Targus by the scruff of his tunic and started to drag his drunken bulk out into the hall. "If you would please grab miss Ignis, Firen?" He plodded in, picked the women up and followed his rider out. They took the two to a empty chamber, putting them on the wall opposite of the door. With Firen staying behind Amber left and returned with a bucket of water, splashing all the contents on the two. Dropping the empty container she then stood in front of the two with her arms crossed, waiting for them to sputter into consciousness.

Targus awoke almost instantly. "Hu wa? This isn't the pub, how did i..." He saw amber standing in front of him. "Oh great, i did it again didn't i." "Yeah, your pretty much screwed right now." Targus grabbed his ears. "Please talk quieter, my head is killing me......i know this isn't the time to ask but, did any of you see who passed out first?" "What? No, i came in and both you and Ignis had passed out." "So your saying we tied twice!?!" "Yeah you......wait.....what do you mean by twice?" "um....nothing......she started it."

*snoooooooooooooooore* Ignis didn't wake up. Instead, her elemental power gone haywire. The water left on her skin started to evaporate slowly. She had a nice dream abou beating the crap out of Targus, and it was too good to wake up. Something happened and the dream changed. She saw the base destroyed, lots of blood and bodies everywhere. "What the?" she thought and then a demon stabbed her, which made her wake up. "Woah! Who's spinning the room?"

"You two are." Amber replied. "Now first off, Targus, what did I tell you last time about drinking and getting the chefs angry? Second, I don't care who started it, that excuse is only used by children. And thirdly, I don't care if you can drink the stuff like water, I don't want valuable and good hands drunk and or passed out. Targus, Next time I have to talk to you about this I'm going to chain you in one of the darkclan holding cells with a mug of alcohol dangling just out of reach. Ignis, be more tolerant and restrained, I catch you having a drinking war with Targus here and you get the same treatment. Am I clear?"

"Okay okay, Ow dont yell, jeeze." Targus grabbed his head. "We should have just stuck with fighting to the death, would have gotten in a lot less trouble." "Wait....you two did what now?" "Nothing, nothing at all. well, nothing dangerus." Agate facepalmed. "I suppose i should ask why you two did this." "Shes wearing one of Aquariah's braclets." Agate stopped, turned and looked at Ignis's arm, sure enough, she had the braclet. "......well this is an unexpected twist."

"I told you to keep you mouth shut!" Said Ignis and her hand landed on Targus' face, leaving a red mark. "None of your business. Now if you excuse me, i got things to do." she said and walked away as soon as her head stopped spinning.

"Aquariah, now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time... So you didn't know she was about till now, actually that bracelet doesn't prove much. We should look into it though..." Amber said switching between talking to herself and Targus. "Firen, when your next alone with Agate tell him this message to give to Targus. I got a new job for you Targus, find out if Aquariah is about and how she's associated with Ignis." "Roger" "Well Targus, I now suggest that you go and sleep off all that alcohol, I'm sure you know where your quarters are. And bring a bucket with you. Agate help him." Amber then clapped her hands once very loudly, the eko's bouncing off the walls of the empty room. This action could have signified the end of the conversation, but Firen thought it was more likely she did that just to watch Targus squirm. "You took to much joy in that." He commented. She replied with a shrug, turning around to grin. "Ya, just a bit. Though you have to admit that he deserved it." With that Amber left to go preform other tasks around the reforming base.

"I never keep my mouth shu... *SLAP*....ow." Targus grabbed the side of his face. "Ugh, did she have her claws out or something? Jeeze that hurt worse than...*CLAP*. GGGGGGAAAAAWWWWW." "Wow, Targus, you sure have a way with the ladies." Agate laughed. Targus was in a ball grabbing his head "Im just gonna, lay downhereand sleep." "Why?" I have to go past the mess hall to get to my quarters, and the cooks have pots and pans." ".......Thats probably the only good call you've made today." "Please stop talking."

EDIT:

Ignis was finally clear to continue with her mission, seeing nobody around. She left a base 20 minutes ago and now was deeper in the surrounding mountains. I need to stop being cranky on strong people or i'll jeopardize the mission. she shouted on herself in her mind. What was she thinking? She knew d**n well that if Targus was a little bit more drunk when she met him she'd be toast, if she didn't toast him first and surprisingly. She finally found her destination and pulled the crystals out of the box. She picked the red square one and pushed it into the ground. The land rumbled and a tunnel made out of crystal walls grown in front of her eyes.

She continued with yellow crystals for another hour until she had a tunnel few kilometers long and there created a room using a blue crystal ball. Then she headed back to the HQ. Once there, she pressed certain wings of the bracelet and a spell activated, turning her invisible. She slipped into the kitchen and packed two bags of most durable food. Then she slipped back out and left the base just in time as the invisibility spell ran out. Doublechecking if she isn't followed, she stored the food in the tunnels and left a blue square crystal near the entrance. Then she covered it up and went back along the road, blowing some huge stones from the nearby mountains. The boulders fell along her path. She stopped before it could be heard in the base and returned to her station.
It was after that when she noticed she could have been watched, when she saw Agate. She sneaked behind him and whispered: "Dude, i don't know if you noticed, but you better keep your mouth shut, or else you can ask Targus' cheek what will happen, is that clear?"
