Thoron awoke in a dark place full of silence. A shuffle of movement or a sniff from time to time could be heard in the blackness. "Ugh, where am I?" He groaned as he struggled to get to his feat. Once he sat up at least, he looked around the dark empty dampness of the stone walled room he was placed in realizing it to be some stronghold's dungeon. Thoron painfully stood up and walked to the huge iron bars on the far side of the massive multi-prisoner cell and saw something white in one of the cells across from his. "Hey where are we if you have any clue at all?" he asked Luna. The black dragon spun his head around thinking there was something lurking behind him but saw nothing, "This doesn't look like the fire fortress... somewhere else maybe?" He asked himself when he looked back to the imprisoned light dragon for an answer for his previous question. The prison was a strange and dark place looking to be hundreds of years old, so the giant kept his injured guard up just in case something were to live down here and try to sneak up on him.

Frost was just wandering the hall and his mind, still trying to figure out what his choice would be. Fortune was still absent from him however, as the dragon from before noticed him. "Hey, you still here?" "Uh, yeah. What with the aftermath of the battle Tara's b-b-been unable to speak to me." The dragon raised an eyebrow and pointed. "Really? Because she's right there." Frost made a 180 to see Tara at the other end of the hall, to make matters worse, she was looking right at him as well. "Well, you gonna go talk with your 'friend?'" The dragon was obviously onto Frost, now he was really screwed. "Okay, you have two moves. Go to Tara and hope she doesn't really want to talk, or run like the dickens... Probably gonna go with option one." Taking a breath he headed straight for the very angry looking dragon. "H-h-hey there." "Now what?"

"Hey buddy. Because apparently we're buddies now." Tara started, but was careful not to sound like a bad cop considering what she had in mind for this guy. Not that she could sound threatening in her current state even if she wanted to. "So let me tell you where you stand. You're obviously a scout or downright spy. Now if you're the other, your butt is jailed right away, so let's assume you're an instance of the first. Now as much as i would like to gut you for just standing there and watching while we got massacred by dozens, unfortunately i'm in a position where i can't afford that." she said, switching to slightly more pleasant tone of voice, "by now i assume you looked around well enough. Seen the west tower? I hope not, it's not pretty, that's where we stage guys who lost limbs and other severe injuries. Now this is coming to your town as well and you know it. already you have scouts on your borders, as i could see personally on my visit. So if i let you go, can you convince your elders to help us, or at least prepare better than we did?" she finished, trying to sound demanding rather than begging. She was playing her hand with the jail, hoping it would work. If she had him captured, she might force the ice dragons to ally with the shadows, and that would be their downfall.

Metrus gave an involuntary shiver at Vorun's arrival, although he found the sensation was mixed with a curious sense of pride. He'd found just the dragon he needed. Abilities tended to get exaggerated when passed by word of mouth. "I am." Big time. "The fire clan took something from us. I want it back." Straight to the (admittedly vague) point. "If I were to tell you that the object in question is in the fire fortress, but that I know the specific location, would you be able to get us to it?"

Vorun seemed to give the question some thought. "The Fire Fortress?" he repeated, pursing his lips. The scent of burning flesh was still fresh in his memory, even though it had been years. Finally, he shrugged and said, looking at the dragon, "How much are you willing to pay?"

"Not 'how much,'" Metrus said, "but what. I've already arranged for the purchase of the medicine the traders told me you favor, though you can also expect a monetary sum of no small significance. After we're both safely back here." He shifted his weight to extend a hand. "Do we have a deal?"
((OOC: How do you answer that question without a standardized monetary system? DD: ))

((I dunno. XD ))
"Wait, both?" said Vorun suddenly, and he withdrew the claw he'd been about to use to shake Metrus's with. "When you said us, I thought you meant you wanted to get your hands on that treasure. I don't have time for tourists." He said unflinchingly, eyes narrowed at the older dragon. Navigating the fire fortress on his own was one thing, but to do it on half strength? That was suicide.

"I meant us when I said it," Metrus said with a shrug, feeling almost amused even though the deal felt ready to slip through his claws. He tweaked his approach. "Go into the fortress by yourself if you wish, but I will be coming at least as far as the border. Did you think I could just hand you a scroll of directions and send you on your merry way? I'm not familiar enough with the fortress for that. I'll have to give instructions once you're in, one way or another. You might not need me," he admitted, "but I'm not a useless hunk of meat, either."

Okay, this was not going well AT ALL. After what he had seen he still wasn't sure who to side with, fact he still didn't even want to pick someone to side with. The ice clan was being dragged into this and he was going to decide the fate of them. But how would he tell that to this fire dragon? Would she understand if he admitted he was still on the fence? Or could he just lie and say 'sure thing, I'll tell them to join the fire clan.'? Then again, was it really lying? He was in this mess because the Dark clan had basically already invaded the Ice clan and all he had done was try to do his civic duty. Besides, the Fire clan held their own and didn't let the Darks take any ground, why wouldn't they be the best choice? This pressured encounter turned out to be just the push Frost needed for his decision. "You're correct in your f-f-first assumption. I am a s-s-scout, and yes i m-m-merely observed. But don't worry, my staying here was only to gath-th-ther up what I would say to the council to tell them that the Fire clan is the b-b-best choice. I could have just as easily stayed at the D-D-Dark clan camps, but i don't trust them, not even for a second." He gave her a half truth half lie, hopefully she wouldn't notice and just think he was always ready to side with the fire.

Tara wasn't completely certain about the ice claner's honesty, but it wasn't like she had a choice. "Right." she said in semi-sarcastic tone. "Listen, I'll be glad to have your help, but I kind of went around my own elders - well except one - and they are all still stuck in the old ways from the first war." She paused as her front legs wobbled under her briefly. With a grimace she straightened herself, only the force of will keeping her vertical. "So if there is to be alliance, it needs to start from your end. and if the elders of either clan won't listen, I am all for going behind their backs. I am fairly certain I can win our alpha to this cause." She coughed. "But that all means that you must be there, north. You're raising enough suspicion by being her as it is. You should leave, for your own sake. And promise me that if you still decide not to help us, help yourselves. Build walls. Increase your supplies. Anything. You saw how bad it can get if they do attack." She finished, not having the strength to continue any further.

" i honestly have no clue." Luna said to Thoron, she had watched him be dragged in here and locked up. "So what did you do to get in here?" she asked him quizzically since this was basically maximum lock up or along the lines of that because of what she had done to get in here. she looked at him with her blue eyes.

The giant tilted his head to lock his blue and red eyes with her's and responded calmly to the dragoness, "I'm not sure what I did, but guessing my situation it was bad!" Trying to recall what happened, even seeing flashbacks of the huge battle and the ones he killed haunted him like a bad dream. Thoron shook his head snarling angrily trying to think why he could trust such an evil and corrupted soul to control his body. "I let something evil control me and do bad things by my very consent, and now I'm regretting it. What about you light clan?" He asked in the same attitude like before. My name is Thoron by the way. He thought feeling strange introducing himself to an imprisoned light dragon such as this one. Thinking probably why the female didn't do the same. During the brief silencing he brought up his left paw and started licking the burn wounds cracking across his scales with his large sharp tongue.

"I'm Luna, but i am not of light clan although i look it, i am air and energy. I've been put in here for something i did quite by accident a few years ago i only managed to escape because kindness of one dragon who surprisingly enough our guard just beyond that veil of lava." Luna said gesturing toward where the room narrowed and was light by an orange glow. " would you like some food, I'm sure your hungry you've been out at least a day." she said bringing some of the food she had hidden from sight into view in front of her and slightly dipping her head in a gesture of kindness.

"Awe so you're a half breed like me, interesting! Seeing your colors made me think otherwise so forgive me." Thoron responded politely while bowing his head after dropping his licked paw to the warm stone floor. He lifted his gaze up at Luna and noticed the food she was offering which surprised him. The huge dragon then sat straight almost touching the ceiling with his horns and spoke softly to her noticing the kindness the dragoness was sharing, "My name is Thoron and it's a pleasure to meet you Luna. It's a shame that such circumstances you've encountered would lock such an innocent soul in a place like this! Surely you've tried to reason with them?" The giant spun his head around at the wall behind him noticing a slight breeze course through the stone brick. He wasn't sure what he felt but maybe a cave could be hidden in this dungeon somewhere, in the walls, the floor, he couldn't be too sure! "Not to be rude but it's nearly impossible for me to accept a bite of your rations without destroying the iron bars in front of me. Maybe you could push a little across the floor with your tail so I could reach it?" He whispered while turning his head back at Luna with a slight embarrassed grin not trying to gain notice from a hidden ear. The shadowflamer also didn't want to ignore the kind hearted offer she gave.

luna pushed the food over to him as she talked to him," ah yes, I've tried reasoning with them, that what i did was mere accident. but to no avail. but don't worry about the food you'll need it they aren't even supposed to feed us for now this is what the guards given me of his meal out of pity." she said and pulled her tail back after depositing the food in his cage. she then settled down as comfortable as she could to wait till whatever happened happened,"at least you cant complain its cold in here." she said as an attempt at a weak joke, it was warm in here and her body had a light coat of sweat that just barley peaked out from under her scales, no doubt the bigger one was worse off. "and there is a stream of water but its really... sulpherey you might say."
