This story is set as an alternate version of the last story before this site. (note: This site starts at "In the Wild" when Blaze has taken the remaining dragons from all the clans who didn't want to take part in the Clan War and taken then away out of the fighting zones)
Each dragon element is a clan and they usually kept to their own elements breeding wise. Then something sturs between the Fire Clan and Dark Clan. They've been having skirmishes for some reason and the other clans are getting pulled in. The Time Line starts when the fighting is starting to get worse between the two clans, on the brink of war.
In this thread you can use old characters that were alive at the time, ex Zarin, Starlight....

"What?" growled an elder dragon, lifting his head from a map. "I am sorry to report that Taraah'Jormund was lost in the battle. They got the jump on us. Our mission failed, we didn't retrieve the objective." said the younger dragon. "That is bad. Notify her family." said the elder and went back to examining the map. "Yes. She was a good frie..." The door swung open, crashing to the wall, almost tearing off the hinges. A monstrous roar cut through the air and Tara walked, or rather limped into the room. "Tara? You're alive, i can't belie-" Tara put one of her hand on the other dragon's back and supperted herself, punching the other arm right into his gut several times. "Next time," she whispered right into his ear, "The claws come out!" she said and tossed the destroyed dragon on the side of the room. She walked up to the elder dragon, who was watching with interest. "This lowlife and his group used me as a bait and then left me to die when they failed to defeat the enemy." she said and put a round, black object on the table. The older dragon nodded. "Great work." But Tara was already midway to the door. "What about the enemy spies?" the elder dragon inquired. Tara looked over hel shoulder. "Ask him," she nodded towards the dragon she beat up, "I think he's got the general idea." she said and walked away to treat the stab wound in her leg.

"There you are." Spoke the low growl of Thoron's voice as he stared into the eyes of Ralotok with a thick wall of snow and air surrounding the two. Thoron has cornered the adversary after destroying his ship and chased him for miles on the snowy alien planet until they reached a large flat area blinded by the snow storm that surrounded them. They both stared with a merciless gaze at one another until Scourge caught up with the two. "Thoron there is a slight problem that involves the followers of Ralo!" The black dragon kept his eyes on his enemy and answered to the demon's question, "Like as?" Scourge pulled his mace off his back hook and gripped the massive weapon with his two hands ready for something. "Ralotok was planning something before we even entered this world! Now he has us in his trap and there is no way for sure what he is planning!" Thoron unleashed his gauntleted weapon and stood ready for the ambush. "You fools think that I am simple to destroy, YOU, are wrong!" The voice came from Ralo as he suddenly lifted his hand at the two. A pattering of feat and metal could be heard within the howling wind around them. "Dread'Voks! Stand ready." Advised Scourge when he saw Thoron charge off at the forty foot tall being closing in on him without warning. The pattering in the wind became a full on charge as six shadowed figures appeared behind Scourge. The demon heard the group getting closer so he turned and casted a large fire ball at them. The Vok dodged the spell in time and all headed right at Scourge except for one that jumped over. Scourge yelled out to Thoron about the flank but couldn't finish his words as the other five enemies slammed into him and held him down. The human sized flanker ran right up to the god slayer and jumped onto his back and began to stab him multiple times until the dragon noticed. Thoron felt the enemy try to rip into his back so he cliched his right hand into a fist thrusting his elbow back as if he was going to punch Ralo but instead stabbing and killing the small enemy that was connected to his back with the long curved blade on his elbow joint. Thoron looked back at Ralo shaking off the attack and noticed that he was holding a black technological sphere in his right hand. "Now begone reincarnate! I grow tired of your pointless assault so I banish you to another existence." Ralotok spoke toward Thoron and Scourge as he activated the device and hurled between the two. Thoron looked behind at the object as he smiled and laughed, "Ha ha you missed...!" Suddenly the device exploded into a gravitational portal and pulled Thoron, Scourge, and Ralo's five soldiers into it sealing them onto another world in a alternate universe.
Thoron and Scourge arose in a valley of fire and lava as the five Vok stood before them. The Dred'Voks were confused on the location they were in so they turned their attention on the two and charged. Thoron disengaged his weapon back into his body and brought his armored left wing in front for protection as the largest of them charged with an enlarged battle axe. The creature cleaved it's axe into his wing getting it stuck within the membrane. Thoron saw and felt the weapon smash through his wing making him grunt a little. Scourge stood up and faced the other four as Thoron fought off the largest one of them. The four charged at Scourge with claws and blades at the ready shrieking in their weird mechanical voices. The demon charged as well but when he got close enough he lifted his mace and hammered it down toward the heated ground causing an explosion of fire and rock to erupt out of the earth incinerating two of them. The dragon shoved the creature off of him with the axe still sticking out his left wing and brought his right wing down on top of the enemy smashing it to the ground under the intense weight of his armored wings. "You die NOW!" Yelled Thoron as he lifted his wing off of the Massive being unleashing the Gauntlet of Armageddon and slammed his massive fist down on top of the head of the cyborg monster killing it instantly. Thoron retreated when he killed the creature and took refuge behind a large stone taller then him. As he watched Scourge chase and eradicate the other two Voks with his evil laugh and demonic weapon; he pulled the axe from his injured wing then rested for a bit noticing a structure in the distance when he did so.

Meanwhile, in a distant corner of the Irihel Mountains, four dragons were about to make a bet. Far off in the snowbound mountain range was a great crevasse, formed by millenia of tectonic shift and glacial erosion. It was no fit place for habitation, but somehow, smoke still curled from the abyss, and lights still flickered in the penumbral cracks and arpertures in the canyon wall. In one of these crass fissures, through the makeshift curtain of bear pelts and wyrmhide, a group of dragons was picking over the remains of a small, skinny icehopper, the prong-horned ruminant endemic to the frozen fields of the northern tundra. "Kassa, we're going to starve if these keeps up. Who even thought of putting an outpost in this godsforsaken pit?" spat one, flicking the decimated carcass onto the pile of bones burning fitfully in the center of the room, the only thing besides the worn-out pelts keeping the cold from sneaking in. "Hey, don't look at me, I'm not the one who went hunting this week. Vorun?" said the other, and all eyes turned to the smaller bluish-black dragon huddling his flank to the fire. The dragon looked away and shrugged. "Don't pick on him, guys, no-wings couldn't even catch a cold if he snuck up on it." laughed a grim, fiercely thin female driving spikes into her club-ended tail in the corner. "You couldn't catch a one-legged human!" Vorun rolled his eyes disdainfully. "Who was it, exactly, that Villemek requested as a messenger because none of you rot-brains could do your jobs properly?" he asked, sarcastically tilting his ear towards them. "Oh right. No-wings over here." The second one skilfully flicked a piece of gristle at him, catching him on the upturned ear. "Bullshit, you got here three weeks ago and I never saw you get any messages. I say you got sent over here cause no one down south felt like dealing with a cripple." he said. His partner laughed raucously. Even the emaciated female gave a slight snort. Vorun rose abruptly, black claws gripping the frozen ground. "Oh, you think I can't outrun the three of you? I propose you a bet. First one to make it to the Shivering Copse wins, the losers have to hunt for a month. The dragons looked at eachother slyly. "Shivering Copse? That's three days away!" hissed the second to the first. The thin one caught him a quick swipe on the head with her tail. "Yeah, sure, dodo-bird, you're on." said the first, rising to shake the wingless dragon's claw. "If you can make it to the frozen waterfall before we can, you've won yourself a meal. If we win, you better make sure you're far away from here cause we aren't even gonna bother making you hunt for us." All three dragons laughed and bared their teeth. Vorun simply smiled smugly. "I never did tell you how I escaped from that fire dragon contingent, did I? Never mind, you'll probably find out sooner or later." he said mysteriously. The three of them positioned themselves outside, the crescent moon illuminating the forsaken pit where other fires burned faintly in the night, other hovels where refugees and outcasts made their home, or else other mercenaries like the four dragons present, hired by some central power to keep an eye on their interests and probably forgotten. The three dragons took to the air, crowing and reeling as Vorun was left to make his way down the steep craggy overlook, one step at a time, while a blizzard raged in the distance.

"I've already told you," Isis said with a growl this time, "you are not permitted to make a base here. The ice clan has nothing against you guys traveling though and through but you can't stay." The dark clan dragon before him returned the growl. "If you don't let us then we can't help you when the fire clan wants to take over." Isis glared at him. He wasn't going to repeat the reason why ice clan was staying neutral, not for the twentieth time. "Then we'll chase them off just as we'll do you if you still around longer." The other five ice dragons behind him fanned out into a more aggressive line, his Sarin'ah'Dee at his side. Looking at the other too dragons behind him the dark clan let out an explosive snarl. They were out numbered and in anothers home ground, they wouldn't have won even if the odds were equal and they all knew it. "Twisting back the dark clan in charge glared at him and hissed with a hint of menace, "You'll regret that decision." Spinning he and his envoy slinked off into the snow coated trees. Listening carefully Isis waited until they were gone before saying, "Time to get back on track. We'll swing back here after we pick up the stash to make sure they don't try and make a base." He and other ice dragons turned back to their route and lopped across the ice and snow.

Later that day, Tara was resting in the community room, watching a young dragon practicing her magic skills. She felt kind of ashamed that the whelp probably had more skill in it then she did. She sighed as the gash in her left shoulder stung. "Who in the world came up with putting crushed PLANTS on a wound. That needs sewing, not 'give it some time to heal'!" she growled, strangling the medic in her mind. She got up and limped to her chamber.
Her dwelling was in the north tower, close to it's Top. She picked it so she could just fly out when she felt like it. Other than that, she didn't keep too much stuff. There was a simple bed made out of several layers of animal fur, a through with drinking water, a chest with some of her smaller possessions and a stand with her armor. She was looking at it, wishing that she worn it that day. However several pounds of steel are not a good equipment on a hijack mission. Tara laid on her bed and let the exhaustion do it's magic. In few minutes, she fell asleep, having a strange dream.
In that dream, she was losing a fight to a dark dragon mage. She could not place it, as she did not recall ever fighting anyone like that. She dodged a spell and wanted to send one of her own, but a wingless dark dragon appeared behind her and she found herself restrained. Soon after, she felt something pierce through her chest. Then the image vanished. She woke up, sweating and panting. She could feel the pain as if she really were stabbed, although it went away quickly. She rolled on her back, thinking about what that dream meant.

When the dragons had taken off, Vorun stopped crawling down the steep cliff and ducked under an overhang, where the shadows were deepest. Without so much as a gesture or incantation, he slipped into the shadow, diving under as if the stygian patch were nothing but dark water. He surfaced on the other side, in a vast void stretching out with the dim light from above filtering down in rays, forming obstacles. It truly was like being underwater. After taking a moment to get his bearings, he half-ran, half-swam in the direction of the Shivering Copse, avoiding large patches of moonlight and sticking to the shadowed parts. Usually the moon's light presented no problem, but it was unusually bright tonight, and he'd rather avoid any mishaps. He hadn't exactly been in top form since arriving in the northern wasteland. In truth, he'd been sent there to keep an eye on the three other dragons -- known trouble-makers, no doubt--, but his contract had expired two days ago and he'd been in no great shape to make good his escape. More fluid than flesh, he skirted around a bright orange glow from above, probably a bonfire of sorts; he wasn't getting close enough to find out. Hours passed. Soon the long night would draw to a close. He'd covered more ground than any dragon could on this terrain, in such harsh wind. Recognizing a skull-shaped overhang from below, he made a course for it, knowing there to be a cave somewhere near its base. He swam into the shadow of the overhang just as the sun broke over the horizon, sending pallid fingers of light over the bleak grey sweep of the land. Breaking free of the shadow nexus he beached himself in the mouth of the cave, breathing heavily. It wasn't much like running, but it was still tiring. He slipped into the icy haven cautiously, discovering, to his relief, the scorched remains of the fire he'd lit perhaps eight weeks back, as well as some kindling in a dry hollow left there as a precaution. Vorun always made sure his future self was well-supplied. He located the fragments of flint stone buried in the kindling and made himself a fire; it wasn't much, but it was better than nothing. His hideout secured, he tucked himself into the dryest corner of the crevice and nodded off to sleep.

Scourge was fighting the two last Voks with supreme speed and brutality but some how they were able to avoid the demon's attacks. The two enemies where fast and quick with their attacks; that wasn't until Scourge tricked the one he was fighting and turned to the one directly behind him trying to attack with his mace closing in onto the creature's left side and smashed into it. The full 180ยบ turn, with the mace gaining momentum, blew the assaulter to pieces when it made contact with it. Scourge had his back facing the foe he had tricked and slowly turned his gaze over his right shoulder to look at the last Vok. "You will die a HORRIBLE death!" He roared as he turned instantly at the creature and lunged throwing his Core of Destruction to the ground. The abomination looked hopelessly into his eyes as Scourge grabbed it by the head with his right hand and crushed it within his palm then lifted the corpse and hurled it into a lava pool nearby watching the Vok's body melt away from the molten rock. Thoron saw that the threat was gone and stood up to inspect the area. He saw nothing but the structure in the distance and spoke to Scourge when he finished, "Where do you think we are? Oh, and also I don't think I can fly at the moment do to this injury just to let you know!" Scourge turned around then walked toward Thoron retrieving his mace from the ground and locking it to his back hook as he got closer. "Well, then we walk! It will be a weakness to bare for a while because of the lack of healing techniques we require. I have no idea where we are but the environment of this plain seems to give me ideas!" Scourge spoke crossing his arms as hot ash passed by his armored body from a nearby lava geyser exploding. He was looking at the structural shadow that Thoron had noticed, with thought, he felt a memory pass by when he was at the Jana Hot Springs thirty six years ago. "I think this world is Dragonessence, Thoron!" Thoron's feathers and spines on his back stood up as if he was surprised and responded. "Dragonessence? How can that be if Ralotok trapped us here on his own will?" Scourge looked up to Thoron and continued with his thoughts, "I'm not for sure if I'm right but it was just a thought as if that large structure over there was the same... As the Jana Hot Springs' fortress!" Thoron turned around and sat down next to Scourge to look at the fortress. "Do you think we can go over there and ask for some aid...?" Wondered the dark dragon before he was cut off by Scourge, "No, not you. Your injured! if you start something with those beings over there and get attacked you might not escape on foot!" Inquired the demon as he turned his sight back to the fortified mountain. "But I might be able to enter seeing that I'm a fire demon of the Eternal Flame! If I am right about them being Fire Clan then they will allow me passage. If not, then be ready to run because I am not ready to fend off this many of my creator's believers! Stay here until I get back." Spoke the Dramorox as he stormed off to the fortress by himself leaving Thoron behind.

Shaking off the dream, Tara got up and walked on the stairs that led down from the tower. She still had a weird feeling that this day is going to be worse than the last. As soon as she thought about that, a pack of hatchlings led by a small golden boy ran her over and disappeared in the corridor below, trying to outrun Tara's curses: "Blaze! You little monster! Get lost before...!!!!" she growled. Moaning from the dozen aching spots where dozens of feet punched her back, she got up once again and walked down the rest of the staircase, exiting through the main gate to catch herself a breakfast.
After some time, she still didn't find any worthwhile prey. Upset and desperate, she turned around and started walking back. After turning one corner, she froze and her breath stopped. She found herself staring on what could have been the largest dark dragon she has ever seen. She quickly analyzed her situation. They were both injured. There was a fortress full of her kind in the hearing distance, but she didn't know how many of the others were there. The fact that this one got so close meant they must have been hidden well. She slowly backed away... Right onto a dry branch. She made a derp face when she heard the crack from under her foot, turned around quickly and ran for cover.

Thoron was sitting by a small lava pool dipping his right hand into the molten rock and searing his wound when he heard a branch breaking behind him. The dragon turned his head over his right shoulder folding his wings in the process. "Who's there? Come out and show yourself now or parish." He demanded as he still sat staring at the corner from where the stick had been smashed.

Vorun woke with a start, accidentally scattering the embers of his fire with a sweep of his tail. He wasn't used to having dreams, and this one had been especially realistic. He righted himself and got up quickly, watching the remnant sparks of reddish light wane and fade into darkness. It was night time, and time to get going. Sinking into the shadows once more, he resumed his journey, sailing across the vast abyss as if driven by a hurricane. The mountains eventually receded from view; he passed out of their shadow and in turn passed into the great ice fields that extended infinitely into the distance. Until, slowly, a deeper shadow approached; a large crater, left by a meteor, some six hundred years ago. The slopes were too high to see into the bowl of it, but he knew from memory that there was a forest there, locked in slumber, waiting for a spring that would never come. He mounted the steep ice ridge quickly, and there was the forest of birch trees, or rather, statues, their thin white arms reaching out towards the black sky in petrified supplication. He surfaced from the shadows, taking in the scene, lit only by the waning moon. There was the waterfall, frozen in a time when there still was a lake there, instead of the wasteland of ice that now surrounded it. There were still many hours until sunrise. Hunger gnawed at Vorun's stomach, an indignity he was accustomed to of late. Barren though it was, the lee offered by the rim of the crater might have tempted some desperate wildlife to take refuge there. He could see no signs of life, however, and so resigned himself to a lonely wait atop the crystalline waterfall, waiting for his three opponents to make their appearance.

Like hell! thought Tara, staying where she were. she had environmental advantage AND she was fresh out of bed. the other guy was bigger, but the odds were in her favor, if it were just the two of them. She prepared her Tsunaflame in one hand and carefully looked around the corner, ready to dodge.

Thoron stood up and turned his entire body to where the corner is when he didn't hear the creature speak. He was angered when he didn't hear a response and you could tell because his right eye began to glow. "If you are smart enough to hear my warning then do as I say or end up like these abominations!" He stood up in his combat formation and readied himself to charge the stranger hiding behind the rock. The massive dragon began to growl as if there was really another Vok lurking behind the cover.

Threats didn't work well with Tara. and the Dark dragon was about to find out. "NOBODY! Runs their mouth open like that on ME!" she growled. Even through her growl, one could hear something begin to hiss. The second after, the rock where she was hiding was red hot, and in another, the molten lava flown it thoron's general direction, Tara jumping right after it to get to close range.

Thoron saw the wall of lava head right for him but he was ready for the attack. He brought his left wing up front and charged into the blaze. As the molten rock flowed over his wing and out of harm he lifted his right hand transforming it into his weapon and slammed it into the ground like a bomb hit; soon after this happened, he erupted his body in waves of fire as it burnt everything around him in the lower elevation. He was not aware that the opponent cold fly until he saw a pair of flaming eyes staring at him from above. The warrior brought his massive hand in front of the advancer's charge like it were a bear trap ready for a fox's foot.
