Battle Training

[Midnightmoon]

The two dragoness's moved most of the smaller rubble, till all that was left was a few massive chunks here and there as well as the huge crater in the middle of the arena. Those would have to be left to the earth dragon to fix up next time a few had a bit of free time. "Ok, now I have to eat. Even a couple leaves can't stave off this hunger. I'm going to catch something and your not going to scare it off this time." Starlight teased lightly, flapping out the hole and away from camp.

(OOC: if you want me to change the "we" to "me" just say so kauria.)

[Kauria]

Shya rustled her wings sheepishly. "I said I was sorry about that. Is it all right if I tag along? I haven't had anything to eat for a while either," she called up to the ice dragon. "Promise I won't get in the way this time."

[Midnightmoon]

"Fine fine, but you catch your own meal and stay away from mine, or else you'll feal the wrath of my tickles!" Starlights voice drifted back to Shya.

[Kauria]

Shya clapped a hand over her mouth to suppress a giggle at Starlight's last comment. "Agreed." The fire dragoness surged into the air, leaving a hot breeze in her wake.

Starlight slowed down enough for her friend to catch up then sped back up when she did. About half a hour later she was forging herself on her second antelope.

((Initiate temp-baddie mode!))

Emma the Witch watched through her crystal ball as the two dragons approached trapping-field. They were big enough; the cords that would soon ensnare them would not break their necks. Emma hated it when the smaller ones wandered in to the traps; not only were they poor prey, but the force of the wire cable constricting around their necks tended to kill them. Her hunters were nearby; armed with fireproof armour and sleep-inducing darts for the feisty ones.

Starlight finished her meal and commenced picking up the left over peices. Even dragons respected their prey. With remains in arms she flew up a few feet off the ground to go bury them. She had only gotten a few feet when all of a sudden she was getting flung about. There was a twang as dozens of thin but strong metal wires ensnared Starlights limbs and wings. The remains were dropped as Starlight struggled. Straining to look at the bondings she noticed little jewals knoted into the wires. "Dragon Bane?!" Starlight thought astonished.

Before her parents had left they had told her all about all the dragon enemies. Humans were one of them. Or not humans in general but the wizards and witches of the race. Capturing dragons for unknown reasons was what they were good at. One of the theorys at what made them so effective was the stone they used in their spells. Dragons Bane, a rare stone that weakened any dragons near it. With it entwined in the wire it strengthened it and weakened her. Struggling and lashing about Starlight tried to snap the wires and crush each stone she found.

The hunters surged forward, raising their dart-guns to their mouths and sending a swarm of darts at the dragoness. Within moments the dragoness had become drowsy. Emma knew by this time the dragoness would be of little danger; especially with the dragonsbane weakening her. She stepped from her room in the castle keep through a crystal carried by one of her commanders, appearing as if from nowhere in the trapping-field.
"Hello, dragon..." she said, kneeling by the dragoness' head, whose muzzle had been bound with the enchanted wire. She took something from inside her cloak; a blood-red pendant. "I need you to do something for me. I know your friends are hiding somewhere. Don't worry, we'll let you return to them soon enough." she intoned, holding the hypnotic gem in front of the dragoness' eyes. "It won't hurt them-- I just need a bit of energy; some from every element. Don't-- don't kill them, you know.. Just drain their lifepower; they won't even notice." she said, waiting. "You can do that for me, right?"

Starlight had felt multiple pricks in multiple places all over her scales before she started to get sleepy and stop struggling. By the time the women was in front of her Starlight could barely stay awake and only had the energy to weakly growl. Even as the women took out the pendent and held it in front of her eyes starlight only had the strength to resist looking at it for a few seconds. Then, as she gazed weakly at the red gem the growl and all her resistance faded away. "... I just need a bit of energy; some from every element. Don't-- don't kill them, you know.. Just drain their lifepower; they won't even notice..." the womens voice was echoy and far away. "You can do that for me, right?" the gem gave a glow and tinted Starlights vision a slight red. With a blank mind the ice dragoness gave a slow and drowsy nod.

[Morty]

Emma smiled and sighed in relief, reaching around the drowsy dragoness' neck to attatch the pendant. "Go, return to your friends; you just took a wrong turn in the woods, is all. Nothing to worry about." she said, getting up and backing away. The hunters retreated stealthily into the shadows, Emma along with them, the wires loosening around the dragoness frame once they had left. Emma snapped her fingers; the last to leave. Then, she disappeared.
Back at the tower, Emma gazed sadly at a still frame apparently asleep on a slab. "Not long now, son. You'll wake again, I promise..."

[Kauria]

"Starlight?" Shya called, slinking through the forest. The trees were thinning; she could see a field ahead through the haze of twilight. "It's getting late. The General will want everyone to return to camp soon."

[Midnightmoon]

The dark spell slunk into the back of Starlights mind as the ice dragon woke at her friends voice. Picking herself up with a slight stumble she took the scattered remains and hastily burried them. "Ok, hold on." Starlight yelled over her shoulder as she did so. Minutes later she was bounding out to the fire dragon. "Heh, ok lets go."

[Kauria]

The fire dragoness cocked her head to one side, but shook it off and began to head back towards the camp. "So where were you?" she asked conversationally. "I hadn't noticed that you had gone off until just a few minutes ago. Find anything interesting?"

[Midnightmoon]

Starlight followed, fiddling with the pended, inconspicuously glassing over the red gem with some thick foggy ice to give it a less eye catching purple. "I just thought I saw a Siren so I went to chase it off. But it was nothing. Didn't find anything really interesting either." Cracking a huge grin she quickly changed the subject. "Hey want to race back before bed? Or is that too much excitement and loss for one day?"

[Kauria]

"Loss?" Shya sputtered, but she quickly bit back any further argument. When she finally opened her jaws again, she grinned and said, "Race if you will. I am an adult."
