"Fine, but we need to let Zarin know about it when we get back," Shya said, pulling away to circle warily around the necklace. Gouging out a hole with her now-extinguished claws, she swept the pendant into it with her tail, wincing slightly as the crystal met her scales. "There we go," she announced, patting soil over it. "Should we mark it in some way or leave one of us here to keep an eye on it?"

Starlight made a pondering look then said, "Leave it. And we don't need it marked." She looked around at the ice and burn marks everywhere along with slashes and scuffle marks in the trees and ground. "I think we have enough indication that something is here. Now come on. The farther away I am from that thing the better." Starlight shivered slightly and bounded off stiffly though the trees.

Shya gave a shrug, and with a running start, she leapt into flight, hanging low over the treetops.

Zarin came back that night and went looking for Star, but she wasn't there. He couldn't find Shya either. "Oh boy, if they turn up like the others i am not going to be very......oh." He saw them flying back to camp. He watched them fly into camp before walking up to them. "Looks like I'm the winner of this race. What are you two doing out anyway? You know whats been going on, sneaking off at night is not a good way to keep your name clear."

The two dragonesses were trying to sneak in without anyone noticing. When Zarin came over Starlight didn't notice untill he spoke up, making her stop in her tracks. "Heheheh," Starlight laughed nervously and then cleared her throat. "Funny you should say that."

Back in her tower, Emma dropped the crystal ball.
"This isn't what I'd meant... Friends fighting friends... But is there no other way?" she watched the ball roll across the floor, bumping into the bookshelf. A dusty old tome fell to the floor. She knelt and opened the motheaten cover. "The elemental hearts..." she read aloud, her eyes falling on an old and intricate illustration.

Starlight gave Shya a withering look over her shoulder. "Thanks for the assist Shya." She mumbled before turning back to Zarin, clearing her throat again. "Well, a few days ago while me and Shya were out hunting I was ambushed by a witch, a female warlock. Ehe, and well she caught me by surprise and you know how I'm not well at mind blocking. In any case long story short she got me and I've be the one attacking the other dragons here in the camp. All I know is that she used a blood pended and that she needed a bunch of elemental magic for something."

Zarin put both hands on his face. "I really hope i wake up right now so i know this never happened." His hands slowly slid off. "*sigh* well, i guess we better figure out everything we can about this witch. You still got that blood pendent?"

Shya jerked her head back in the direction they had come. "Buried it in the forest for the time being. You want us to take you there, General?"

"No, i only asked if you still had it to make sure that you didn't just leave it anywhere, OH WAIT! I guess it would be a good idea to go back to that spot." Zarin said sarcastically. "Will we need to fly there or can we walk?"

"Come on, that thing is full of energy. If one dragon blows and causes a bunch of damage, imagine three." Starlight said, a bit angrily. Then she sighed. "Ok, you can walk or fly. It's not that far in, only a few minutes. But personally I think we should leave it there for a bit. A) I don't want to touch or go near that thing again for a while and B) they..."she nodded over Zarins shoulder to the nearest dragons of the whole group, "... might freak if any more of them disappear. Not many have been hardened by actual fights yet... as far as I can tell."

"And that is why we need to get it, who ever was controlling you wouldn't have you attack dragons and get their energy with out a way for her to get it back. Ill bet you anything that she has some sort of tracking spell so that she knows where it is and can go get it when its time, or maybe a teleportaion spell that will activate when its full. Either way its a bad idea to just leave it out in the woods, it would be a lot safer if it where back here." Zarin replied instantly.

"Guess I've been put on the spot now," Shya said, almost sheepishly, her eyes darting between Zarin and Starlight. "Count me out, One-Eye. I had to touch that thing for just a second when I put it in the hole, and that was enough for me. It can wait until later, Zarin."
