"At least show me where it is, you dont have to come with me. Look i know how you feel but we cant just leave that thing out there. As i said who ever made that will want it back, not only that but what if another dragon stumbles upon it? The risk is too great."

Turning back to the woods, head down, Starlight grumbled. "I'm just telling you that I'm not going to touch it or even go near it. I never said I wasn't going to. Now come on Zarin. Shya you can go back to sleep. I'd think you'd need it considering all that's happened tonight." She said the last part more sincerely before the underbrush cloaked her.

"As long as you know the general direction to go it's quite easy to find." Starlight explained to Zarin as she led the way. "While under the spell Shya was my choice for the fire element. I lured her out here and we had a big fight. There would still be scorch marks and ice everywhere." It took a little while to get there. When they did Starlight stopped just as the damage came into view. "A few meters ahead of us you'll find a small area of freshly dug earth. About a hands width deap is the blood stone. Watch out not to touch it for too long."

Emma tiptoed through the silent woods, flinching at every sudden noise. She cursed herself for not making the amulet auto-retrievable, usually when the job was done she could simply make the hypnotized dragon deliver the amulet themself. She knelt and rummaged in the soft loam of the forest floor. At least she could detect the amulet's whereabouts. She froze as she heard footsteps approaching. Four-legged footsteps. Staying as still as humanly possible, she quietly clasped her fingers around the familiar smooth shape of the hypnotic pendant and prayed the footsteps would move on.

Shya's shoulders sank with relief at her friends' suggestion. She turned away from the dark forest and stalked back into the camp, trying not to disturb the uneasy silence that hung over the prairie. Despite her exhaustion, she found herself unable to settle down, instead circling the available patches of ground restlessly.

"All right, ill be back in a flash." Zarin walked into the battle field. At first he didn't see anything odd because it was dark, but then he noticed a small figure crouching over where Star had said the pendent was buried. "I hate to say i told you so, but i was totally right on this one."

"Humph, admit it, you love to say 'I told you so'." Starlight grumbled taking a few tentative steps forward. "So what kind of hatchling or stupid dragon is trying to get the shiny pendent?" She started to push some brush aside when she got a faint scent, a scent she recognized. "Elemental of Darkness, you little witch." Starlight snarled, taking hasty steps back. Lifting a paw she charged a beam in her palm. "Make one twitch and you'll be more ice then flesh."

Emma's eyes went wide like a deer in the headlights.
"I-I'm sorry! I--" she cried, stepping back. She clutched the pendant to her chest, ready to make a swift retreat if the dragoness proved to be merciless.
"I can explain... But cold-blooded anim-- creatures like yourselves could never understand..."

Starlight hissed, "We may look like lizards with wings but we have fire in our hearts you pink- fleshed- human. And understanding has nothing to do with blood. Now start explaining." she snapped. "I'm not a cold-blooded murderer, but what you did turns my heart to stone and chills my blood." Starlight's flashed dangerously.

Emma felt her eyes sting. She was dead meat and she knew it.
"I have a son-- He's very ill! I know an egg-layer could never understand, but you have to believe me! I was only doing what was best for my family.." she fell to her knees, the pendant clutched in on hand.
((Good thing this isn't an official character of mine, oh the angst! For shame! ;D))

(OOC: Starlight is just angry and a bit scared. last time she had a run in with Emma she was put under a spell that made her attack not only other dragons but a new friend. Not to mention Emma keeps saying stuff that infers that dragons are completely and utterly different from humans and would have no idea what they feal like.)

"Don't eat me, I don't even taste good!" cried Emma. Being a sane person she was completely convinced the dragons would have her hide. Using the energy stored in the pendant she teleported away in a flash of lightning, leaving nothing but smoke. She collapsed on the tower floor with relief, trembling slightly. She only hoped the dragons had no way of tracing her spell.
((You can trace her, or you can wait for her to make her next move. All I know is that any sane human being would have rathered make their near-infallible escape than stay in the company of angry dragons. XD))
