Ciro remained silent and invisible, trying to no avail to stifle his childish sniffling. If there was one thing he wanted least of all, it was to be near someone at a time like this. Don't you understand that running away means don't talk to me?!? he raged inwardly, doing his best to bite back the tears.
Hearing the commotion, Iskander turned away from a messy painting of what appeared to be a rocky landscape of riddled with dark openings, only to be lashed across the chest with a jet of paint. "I've been slain!" he cried melodramatically, rolling on his back while at the same time picking up the pouch of red paint and kicking it at the offender.

Lantea dodged and got hit several more times before she decided to turn it up a notch. She reached out to her bag and pulled out a pouch full of red powder. With the story her mother told her about causing a stir at the last games with an illusion of an earthquake, she was more than happy to folow in her footsteps, as she emptied the pouch right into Gorn's supply of paint. And suddenly, all the giggles came to a mighty stop, and eyes turned towards the two energy dragons. Lantea pointed a finger at Gorn backstabingly, whispering: "Run dad, run for your life."

Shya-tael coughed as a spatter of pink paint bloomed across her chest scales, a fine red powder rising up from the impact. It burned in her nostrils and against the roof of her mouth and the back of her throat, feeling as if she had accidentally inhaled her own fire breath. Her eyes stung and watered, melting to a raging gold beneath the tears. Hellsclover . . . Everything was blurry and stained red with the dust, but she registered Lantea's finger of blame. Gorn had a pink paint hose. Case closed. Fire trickled out of Shya's jaws and she roared with a combination of pain and peculiar joy at finally getting to do something. She lowered her head, snorted out as much of the hellsclover powder as she could, and barreled towards the energy dragon, claws and tail aflame.

Gorn could easily tell by the change in smell from the paint hose what was going on. "Lantea, you're grounded." Gorn dropped his hoses and ran.
Frost sat next to Ciro waiting for him to respond. When all he got was silence he sighed with a nod. "Alright, I can see you don't want to talk, but j-just ask yourself something. How long c-c-can you run from your problems b-before you get tired and they catch up?"
Taranis sat by the arena watching both contestants and audience members shuffle in. It looked as thought the crowd was bigger than before, which made him a little more nervous, but what bugged him the most was what wasn't there. His family. "Where are you guys?"

"Right, and who's gonna make me?" Lantea grinned after the escapee. One can't be grounded if there are no parents to enforce it. She turned and flown away before somebody uncovers the truth. Like grounding ever worked on her anyway, she'd just dive into the scrolls and spend however much time reading. She spiraled up to the arena. She went to the booth and had her own name crossed out. Despite the momentary distraction, she still felt quite miserable and was slightly wotrried her rounds might leave permanent damage on her opponents. "Whatever for?" an air dragoness of similar age staying behind her asked. "Bad day." she sighed, "Who're you?" "Right now i think you need em to be your friend." the air dragoness said seeing the looks on Tea's face. Lantea snickered and nodded for her to follow. They went up a few branches, where they could see the arena well. A small blue bird was flying circles around them. "Come here little fella!" The overly happy air dragoness said and the bird landed on her forearm. "May I?" She said. Noddind fiercly her new frined let the bird hop onto her hand. "What's your name?" "Sonia!" "Lantea." They said briefly. the energy radiating from the and dragoness was frankly getting on Lantea's nerves. When she can't be happy, she won't let anyone else to be either. Just ask the people down at the lake. And the bird on her hand seemed like the happiest creature on the planet. She gently stroked it's back and than pointed her open palm on the creature. Hissing like a snake, blue streams started to flow from the bird into her hand, the bird disintegrating in a bloody and fiery death. The air dragon's jaw dropped open: "Did you just?" "Yep." Sonia turned around and Lantea heard the sound of throwing up, nauseatingly satisfied. Heh, nauseatingly. "Why would you do such a thing?" The air dragoness turned back , on the verge of tears. All of a sudden, Lantea felt the worst in her life. "Sorry, bad day." she said, putting an arm around Sonia's shoulders. She could feel the white figure trembling slightly, but the shivers stopped under her touch. "Say, seen my Brah? A big, red, mean and kinda dumb one?" she asked, looking around the crowds. Sonia flared up, doing the same and finally pointing: "There?" "Aye." Lantea wondered if she should tell Taranis about mom, but decided to do so after his match, as a distraction like that would be bad. Instead, she cheered him out loud.

Ciro wiped his eyes and strained to compose himself. "So what are you saying, that I should go out and confront my mom's sickness myself?" he said bitingly, ignoring the yellow paint dripping down his scales.

The two tournament criers stepped out into the ring again, the morning light illuminating the haze of mist that had settled in the pit. The fire dragon coiled his way up the pillar, and the enthusiastic air dragon gave him a nod, readying his powers of vocal amplification. "Would all remaining junior combatants please return to the arena?" the fire dragon called from his perch. "The final few battles will resume shortly!"

Starlight made a break for the tree top, laughing maniacly, when the dragons who had brought the paint arrived at the colourful battlefield. Needless to say they were not amused that their suplies had been used in a seamingly wasteful way, not that they knew of the benifit it had. The rain cloud finally disapaited from above her head as the last of the rune dripped from her chest. Landing on a high branch, Starlight perched near the trunk and doodled swirly designs with the last of the paint that hadn't been washed away from her scales, thinking of the events that had occured bellow. "So much for a stressless event. At least it's all at the back of their minds now." As she drew, Starlight's mischevious cheer ebbed to a tired contentment. "It'll all work out." She murmured to the wind.
Dinara shoved the now empty bucket into Zephyr's hands as some disaproving looking dragons showed up. Whipping around she took off for the lake, leaving behind yet another war zone and her mothers laughter as she made her own escape. She spent the rest of the day with the water dragons, participating in the creation and production of the water activities.
Zephyr dropped the bucket when one of the arriving dragons glowered at first the bucket, then him. "Uh, ya, I just got here." A big drip of blue paint fell from the side of his face. The dragon narrowed his eyes. Grinning Zephyr turned slowly around, not breaking eye contact- and got out of there so fast you'd think he'd teleported. "Sparks that was fun!" "It wasn't for your benefit. From what i could gleam from our arrival it would seem that something terrible was going on." "I guess... something to do with those light dragons Pheonicia and Sol'Lux." "Indeed..." "Well, I anyways, it was fun." "Who was that one who started it?" "Remember Dinara? That was her mom. Great friends with the light dragons, the whole lot of them. She and them are always playing in some form, making fun. I heard there was a huge snowball fight at the Ancient Tree's peak yesterday that they unintentially started." "Her name?" "Oh ya, uuhhh, Starlin-Starliiieee- Starlight!"

"What's taking them so long? Come on, i didn't rig the competition so you can slack off!" Lantea growled at the commotin, or lack thereof, down at the arenas. "You did what?" Sonia gasped. Lantea's face curved with a grin: "The guys with allergic reaction and broken leg? that may have had something to do with me." She wouldn't have normally confessed, but there was something about giving the air dragoness a reality check. She may have once thought her little brother to be the most naive being on the planet, but this one lead on all scales. "You DId that?" "No, NO! Do you honestly think if i broke somebody's leg they would keep quiet about it? I may have just directed fortune away from them..." she said deviously, while putting the jinx rune on Sonia's back, muttering the spell. The air dragoness noticed and looked below her: "And you just did it to me, didn't you." she said, although the smile on her face told Lantea it was indeed taken as a joke. In a second, a strong gust of wind blown Sonia off the branch. She returned momentarily, brushing the rune off. "I thought your family was supposed to be good and protecting. And oh yea, i noticed your mom is non other than the Guardian herself." she said, noticing the surprise on Lantea's face. "I am not my mom, or grandma before her." "Clearly."

Pandora came back after a long and patient hunt covered in camouflage made by various sticks and mud. What she was hunting for was unknown to others; but for her sake it was a Gyruda from all the wounds bleeding on her body! The dragoness walked out of the forest and stepped into a puddle of yellow paint on the ground. She stopped, feeling the liquid smear between her toes as her expression changed to anger when her camo was ruined by the bright color, "What ill witted fool was playing with all this paint... Oh, there was more then just one was there?" She looked around seeing multiple footprints everywhere differing then the one she stepped in.
The dragoness lifted her paw and shook it flicking the paint off and made her way around the tree to seek the dark dragon called Metrus. She at least knew that he was an experienced healer, but she could always go looking for Ciro also.

A dragon covered in mud, branches, and what appeared to be blood entered Metrus' view, and he jerked his head up in apprehension. Something, though, seemed familiar under the rank layer of camouflage. "Desperanus, you're a mess," Metrus said, hunching his shoulders to better peer at Pandora. His forked tongue flickered, picking out the tang of blood from among the earthen scents of the forest. "That yours or someone else's?"

"Heh, speak of a devil! Yeah it's mine, well some of it anyways." She responded as she walked up to Metrun with a slight limp and sat down to rest her painful body, "Yes the Gyruda was not a good choice, but the fight was worth it! Now that creature lies dead somewhere in the forest two miles behind me, hhehe," she looked at Metrus with a muddy blood stained smirk after explaining her story to whoever was listening, "Yeah I sort of picked a fight with the wrong creature if you can already see?" She turned her injured form to Metrus and sat down again to reveal the injuries on her back and sides to the dark dragon. "If you think I should wash then let me know because this camouflage is stinging my wounds?" The cuts and gashes on her body where pretty deep as her blood slowly drained from each one of the ten on her small form. How she was able to resist each painful wound was unknown but it showed how strong she was to ignore such pain, well for a time that is!

"Step one, right there. Go wash yourself off." Metrus inclined his head towards the nearby lake. "Keeps your wounds clean and lets me better see where they are."
------
Shya rammed headfirst into a tree. Her fires went out in surprise, and she fell back on her tail, momentarily stunned. Her eyes still stung in a thousand searing pinpoints. "Water, she muttered, resolving to get Gorn back later. The fire dragoness clambered to her feet and made her way to the water's edge, her head swinging low.

"That would help you a lot more wouldn't it? Alright give me a sec." Responded the black dragoness while she turned to the nearby lake and made her way to it. Pandora stopped at the shore suddenly feeling a sharp pain course through her body, so with haste, she stepped in the cool water sinking down in the crystal clear depths. She had her eyes closed when she touched the rock bottom feeling the pain cease thankfully. A new pain occurred though when she tried to use one of her small wings. As the mud dissipated off Pandora's black slate scales, she tried to move her small left wing again noticing the sharp pain again. Great, now I think my wing it broken! It's funny I noticed now then before. She thought then looked back to the shore Metrus was at lifting then thrusting her largest wings full force creating a wind funnel out of the lake. The dragoness left a perfect mud cloud in the shape of herself at the lake depths when she erupted out of the water in her true colors and landed on the shoreline. When She looked at Metrus and began to make her way to him, the wounds began to bleed more turning her black and white form to spattered crimson. "Uh dang it, no wonder I wasn't bleeding like this before! The mud was coagulating my cuts and now they're open and washed out creating open wounds again." She spoke to remind herself why she applied the earthly substance to her body in the first place. Pandora limped over to the dark dragon offering to help before she collapsed in his view not even fifteen feet away . "I- I think I handled enough blood loss for today." She blurted deliriously while attempting to keep her eyes open and head off the ground.

Taranis heard Lantea cheer his name, least she made it. Now he had a much bigger problem, the wait. Seemed some vandals snuk in last night and wrote some obscene things on the arena walls, so the match was delayed while they were cleaned. In that time Taranis ran through the battle over and over in his head, and it didn't look good. What Taranis had in strength and endurance, Jet matched in speed and agility, not to mention she knew where to hit. His options seemed limited to two things, one: stand his ground and hope his endurance was more than anything she could dish out. Or two: try to match her speed and get in a hit. There was no way she could take many of his attacks. Before he could decide the announce came on, "We apologize for the delay. The arena matches shall now proceed." The entire area was filled with cheers, seemed this really was the match everyone had been waiting for. He took a deep breath as his and Jet's names were announced and walked into the arena. Jet was on the other side strutting in as though she had already won. She began waving to the crowd acting as if they were all for her. Taranis' worry had left him and was replaced with his good old friend rage, he was gonna beat the smug grin off that wind bag's face without even trying. The two readied and the gong sounded. Jet moved first, charging towards the left to get Taranis on the side. Not a chance, he had enough time to jump to the side and retaliate with a fire ball. Jet flipped over it and brought her tail down on Taranis' head. Twas but a scratch, Taranis grabbed Jet's tail and pulled her into his fist, she failed to block and took a full hit to the ribs. She gave a short cry in pain, but recovered faster than predicted. Grabbing a hand full of dirt she blew it in Taranis' eyes and escaped while he was blinded. She began circling him slowly becoming faster and faster until she was just a blur. Taranis couldn't keep up, every time he tried to hit she would be behind him and crack him on the back a few times and continue circling. He had to find a way to stop her, but how? Suddenly, light bulb. He forced the ground up like a speed bump in Jet's path to trip her, if only that light bulb had stayed off. Jet used the speed bump as a ramp and launched into the air, quickly followed by a pile driver. For a small air dragon, she could bring the pain. Taranis was down on the ground completely disoriented, he tried but standing proved to be hard. Luckily, Jet gave him a little help...No, wait, that's not lucky at all. She air blasted him up only to follow him up and knock him back down. Taranis laid there, was this it? Had he been beaten by the one person he swore to destroy here? "What, are you done already?" Jet mocked. "All that talk and this was all you could do. Big hits don't count for anything if they don't land sucker. You're just too slow and dumb. That's why no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, you'll never beat me." Taranis was getting angry, he found enough strength to stand just in time to end the count down. "Aww, are you still trying? Why bother!" She pushed him back down. "You know you're gonna lose. Face it, the best fighters are thinkers, not brutes." She kicked him in the stomach. "And plus your family isn't even here to see it! I bet they already knew you'd blow it. Heck thats probably why only your sister showed, to watch you get your tail get handed to you. Because to them, you're nothing but a sad sad failure." She was about to go for another hit, but Taranis grabbed her leg. She had pushed him too far, his eyes changed to a solid glowing white, the temperature around the arena began to increase. "What did you call me?" Taranis' touch began to burn Jet, the ground around him began to burn and crack. "WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?" He hurled Jet across the arena, but instead of flying out of the ring, she was pulled back in as if some force was controlling her. Taranis sent her right back with a punch, but she just kept flying back, even though it was obvious she was trying to fight it. The ground below Taranis had begun to melt, and the arena ring was now a ring of fire. After the fourth time hitting Jet, Taranis grabbed and pinned her, about to finish her off. But he stopped. The horror and sheer terror in her eyes were enough to make him realize what was happening. He snapped out of his rage and the arena changed back from a furnace, his eyes faded back to normal as well. He released Jet who was still on the ground terrified, massive burn marks had been left even where he had barely touched her. The audience thought this was some sort of act, because they began to explode in cheers and applause. It was hard to hear the announcer declare Taranis the winner through it all, but thats all he needed to hear for him to know to take off. Taranis flew fast straight to the lake, he had hoped it would have been abandoned, but it looked like some sort of color war was taking place on the other side. That was the least of his worries, right now, he could still feel the heat on his scales. Putting his hands in water, he was engulfed in an enormous cloud of steam. What the hell had happened to him? What sort of power was that? Was he even a dragon? So many question ran through his head as he sat there, slowly going deeper into the water.
