"What is this? Cowards!" Jack yelled, gesturing haplessly. "This is ridiculous. Well, our job was to make sure the newbies didn't get slaughtered.." Lulu said, watching Sid and Targus go. "Speaking of which..." She swung around and struck an enemy dragon with her tail, her axe embedding deeply into its neck. "Good idea, Lulu." Jack sighed, running along her tail and hopping onto the twitching dragon's back to finish its rider. "Besides, I've got a feeling they'll be back." he muttered, and jumped off as Lulu sent the body crashing into another group of rebels.

Targus and Sid realized that they weren't being chased so the hid behind a hill. "Okay, we need a way to take them out. If we had some ranged attacks this would be super easy, but were two close combat guys." Targus scratched his chin. "I think i have an idea." He took the clone of his sword with all his might threw it right at an enemy archer. Someone yell head shot because this was dead on. Then using his bind to it, pulled it right back to him and then threw it again. "HA! Advantage ME!"

"Huhn?" Jack exclaimed as one of his soldiers was suddenly dragged out of his saddle, a sword through his stomach. "Oh, come on! Not cool, bro!" he groaned as a second soldiers was dragged backwards towards a hill a few yards away. He nudged Lulu. She nodded. Part of the hill slid off like a mudslide in the direction of the thrown swords.

"Sid, if you would." Targus said pointing to the mud slide. Sid tapped it with his axe and if froze up. "Thanks." Targus said lobbing another blade. "You should try this, its kinda like darts."

Jack inhaled deeply and knocked the blade off course with a sharp breath of air. "Try again!" he called cheekily, poised for another knife toss. "Why didn't you just slit their throats when they weren't looking?" Lulu sighed.

Maela froze the second the smoke filled the area, her ears pricked and muscles tensed. Slowly, silently, she lowered herself into a crouch, fingertips of one hand on the ground. Now she's quiet, she thought with a grin. Do you know where she is? No, and I can't smell her in the smoke. Let's give her another few moments, and then I'm clearing the area. Athvesa raised his wings.

That's right, fool. Stay and do nothing. And while we keep you who has a brain occupied, our archers will massacre your brainless troops that are blindly charging at the fortification. thought Ignis. She was facing a choice if she should waid for the demoness to run out of pacience and then try to incinerate her the moment she hears where she is, or if she should just blow off the smoke and target visually before she can retaliate. She's pretty fast. Even though there's higher chance for miss, i'll go the safer way. THIS ONE TIME. They'll try to clean the smoke anyway, and that's gonna make some racket. she noted to herself and waited in her position.

"Dang, looks like they've started blocking my swords." Targus said catching one coming back. "We need a new plan AGAIN, but this time one that can work with out more than one attempt." Targus scratched his head thinking of what to do. "I've got it." Sid blurted out. "Lets use their own tactic against them." Targus looked at him funny. "What are you talking about?" "Every time we both hide behind something, that dragon brings a mountain down on us. So what we need to do is send one down on them." "Yeah thats great except the dragon could use her earth powers to stop it." Sid shook his head. "Not if we bring down a mountain of ice." He said tapping his axe. Targus got a huge smile. "Sid, i like the way you think."

Maela held her position, motionless save for her own breathing. She watched the sooty particles swirl, a sphere of tense silence in the center of a battle. Brings back memories, doesn't it? she thought to Athvesa. Don't remind me. We had to wait for hours in in that one mission. It pays, though. Maela blinked briefly against the acrid air. Don't clear the smoke. She's impatient; she'll either slip up or clear it for us.

Jack tapped his foot impatiently. "This is boring. Why are we even bothering with these two?" he grumbled slashing the throat of a dragon Lulu was grappling with. Lulu dropped the dragon in annoyance. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't steal my kills." she sniffed. "And if you haven't noticed, they've kind of been giving us hell ever since you INTRODUCED YOURSELF AND THEN ATTACKED THEM." Jack grinned and rubbed his neck self-consciously. "Yeah, I should probably start doing that in reverse order, shouldn't I." he said sheepishly. "Well they can't do any damage from behind that hill, I say we finish up here then go rendezvous with the General's troops. I'll bet they've made it through that last wall by now." He said optimistically. Lulu grunted and closelined a pair of dragons with her tail, making short work of them with her axe while Jack kept a wary eye on the hill.

Targus and Sid walked out from behind the mountain again. "Okay, so hit as hard as you can, then run away." Targus told Sid. "Don't have to tell me twice." Sid replied. He waked up to a side that faced the archers, took a few practice swings, then BAM. Smashed into the side of the mountain. First, nothing happened, he hit it again, some ice came out. Finally Sid took one mighty swing that almost took out the side of the mountain by itself. With in seconds there was a massive tower of ice cracking and breaking, Sid bolted away just as it came crashing down. "Booya!" He yelled running off.

"There they are!" said Jack, watching Targus and Sid scurry into the shelter of the cliff face. "What are they doing? Are they trying to attack the cliff?" he wondered, ears lowered in perplexity. "No," said Lulu, watching the freshly-made wall of ice begin leaning dangerously. "They're trying to bring it down." "...Well, what are you waiting for? Run!" Jack yelled at the scattered archers before sprinting off like a bat out of hell, abandoning them to their fate. "Jack, you ass, get back here!" Lulu roared, running after him. The wall came down with a resounding crack, burying demons and rebels alike. Jack panted and collapsed, his feet touching the ground for the first time in ten meters. "Lulu?" he croaked, staring dejectedly at the expanse of icy debris. Two huge batlike wings blasted from the wreckage, followed by the rest of Lulu's shaggy body. "Urgh. Nice going, Jack, you just got more than half our new recruits killed." she growled, knocking snow from her ears. "I think that's a little more than a sprain." She grumbled, holding up a crumpled wing. "My bad. On the bright side, there's no more rebels to fight here." Jack said, looking around. He sighed. "Let's get out of here before the whole canyon caves in on us." He jumped onto Lulu's back, tying a splint around her injured wing as they set off in the direction of the fighting.

"Well, that worked well." Targus said with a smile. "Yeah, but i think we took out a few of our own guys, don't think the general will be happy about that." Sid said with worry in his voice. "Hey, it was either 'We let them die by arrows then drop the mountain, or drop the mountain and pick off the survivors faster." Targus said while throwing another sword and killing a demon climbing out of the ice. "Never get tired of that."

Ignis was getting bored, but also figured out this is a battle of nerves and that the more she keeps this guy occupied, the less damage will be done. At least that's what she thought, by the important looks of the duo she was fighting. Then again, i can keep the smoke up and barbecue them at the same time, hmh? she thought and her hand touched the ground. Few seconds later, the ground cought on fire within 150 meters radius.

Maela's wings opened reflexively the moment she saw the orange glow of fire rushing across the ground to her. Several quick wingbeats carried her back to the perimeter of the affected area, the sound swallowed by flames and the din of battle. Athvesa spread his claws, slamming a hand against the ground to create a thick sheet of ice that lanced through the conflagration. Two questions: where are you, and should I clear the smoke? Maela had sheathed her daggers and snatched her halberd from where it lay. A safe distance away, and no, she replied, inspecting the blade. She looked up, her inky eyes focusing on a large brown dragon nearby. If it's you she wants so badly to fight, might as well give her what she wants for a time. I've got an errand to run. Keep her busy. She ducked under a rebel blade and drove her weapon into the chest of the elven wielder. The demoness took off, disappearing rapidly into the thick of the battle. If she tries to clear the smoke, replace it with something else. Keep her guessing for as long as possible. Got it. Athvesa grinned wickedly.
