An earth elf stepped around the curtain of water, shielding his eyes from the spray as he peered into the shallow cave. "Could've sworn I heard voices up this way," he muttered, speaking over his shoulder. Moments later, a large earth dragoness stuck her neck in after him. "I don't see anyone." "Just fill the tanks up. We'd better get the water back to the tavern before the sun starts to set." "Mm'kay." She withdrew, leaving her rider alone in the hollow. He took a step forward. "Anyone there?" he called, looking up at the stone ceiling high above him.

"Looks like a harmless local. Then again, Chaos is also a cute little hatchling. Monstrous, blood sucking cute little fuzzy hatchling." noticed Fireheart to Dinara. He looked carefully through the wall of water, narrowing the light rays it curved to see what was behind and if the giant earth dragoness isn't waiting in an ambush. "Are al of them big as this? I feel inferior."

"And how often have you run into people who are evil? Out of everyone you've ever met?" Dinara countered, but she had to agree with Fireheart. "How about we just stay cloaked until we know more." Pyhros and Saratheen stood very still at the very back of the cave. "You think he's another?" Pyhros asked. "I don't know. If he is he's better then the last one." "They're not that desperate to send anyone like that yet, I don't think. But still, the few people who know where we are the better." "Not to mention we don't want to explain about those other two."

"Stop talking to people that aren't there," the dragoness said in a joking manner, poking her head back in again. The earth elf grinned, shoving his bond's head away. "Are we ready to go yet?" "Give it a few more minutes," she said, then froze suddenly, sniffing the air. "Who's there?" "That's no way to earn customers," the elf rebuked, leaning on her neck. "Sorry for Tylari's rudeness," he called to the darkness.

Dinara gave the slightest of winces, "Ah, busted." Saratheen huft "Oh, well." "Sorry to say we have little interest to buy anything at the moment, gentlemen." Pyhros replied.

"Ah, we're not merchants," the elf said, waving a hand. "Tylari and I run a tavern not far from here, and I might be more inclined to talk to you if you'd care to show yourselves." You seem awfully comfortable talking to invisible voices, the earth dragoness observed, raising an eyebrow. Not at all. I'm practically quaking in my boots, but being cowards never seems to have got us anywhere in the past. Just be careful. Ever heard of the Dark Clan? Oh, now you believe in those old stories. I see how it is. He crossed his arms and looked to the source of the voices.

Fireheart remade their holoriders and dropped the cloak. "I need to work on the scents." said his holorider. "Sorry, we are just cautious." said Fireheart and stepped out of the cave. Aside from the earth dragoness he didn't feel any heat signatures but few animals. He nodded back to the cave. "We are new here, came from far lands." he started again, quite confident this time it will work.

"Ohh," said the elf, leaning back again. His dragoness snorted and pulled away, allowing him to fall to the floor with a thud. "So what brings you guys all the way out here?" she asked, ignoring her wincing rider.

"Hm, you ran a tavern you say? Good place to hear rumors, maybe you can help. Have you ever heard anything about a place called Atlantis?" he asked right away, but thought if it was wise the second after. But if they want to get some information sooner or later they will have to ask. "Or do you know about some really old ruins or something that might give us a clue? I can tell you that notices of it will probably be from the oldest part of your recorded history if it would be there at all."

"I've only heard of Atlantis as a lost city, but something tells me you're not chasing that particular legend," the earth elf said, standing slowly. "I'm not very fond of history, but there are some scholarly types that come to the tavern who might be able to tell you. If you're not interested in that, the great library in Aurisa probably has information on ruins." "It closes at sundown, though," Tylari added, glaring at her bond. "And considering how soon that is, we really need to get these water tanks back to the inn." She pulled back, muttering something under her breath. "Looks like we have to go. If you guys need a place to stay later on, we'd be happy to accommodate," the elf said with a grin, hopping down to follow the dragoness.

"Well... We didn't exactly have the time to get local currency." explained Fireheart. "Money. Barbarians! I'm starting to miss home. Everyone so willing to provide help just for the good feeling and maybe someday returning the favor. Hard to believe that this was the image we were created upon." he noticed to Dinara, frowning. "Thanks for the offer though. Maybe later." he said and looked around. "Mind if we fly the rest of the way?" he asked Pyrhos.

Dinara shrugged. "It's what works here I guess. And if I remember what my mom said correctly then Sol'Lux didn't get her armor free of charge. She traded the set for a magical anvil of sorts, didn't she? And just think, we may not half elves but maybe some day we will be like these people." "We apreciate the offer though." Pyhros couldn't help giving the holograms a weird look for a few seconds. Giving himself a slight shake he replied, "We'd rather not." "It's been a long day." Saratheen added, walking forward through the screen of water, taking a few flaps of her wings to reach the shore. Dinara jumped through and swam after the pair.

That was dealing with a human, not with another dragon. As for the second part of your statement i hope you are wrong. They seem to be still in the clan society. We already prooven that doesn't work. In fact they might be discussing the new form of governing the island right now. I'm glad i'm not part of the negotiations though. he thought and followed their guides.

"I guess." Dinara replied in partial agreement to both the cases. "Sooo, you said something about bonds earlier.
Pyhros didn't turn around and shifted in the saddle. Saratheen responded instead, her tone neutral. "When a elf is conceived a egg is found soon after, and a short while later cet egg hatches to become the new born's bond. Each complete the other. Humans can't have bonds unless they create a connection with a dragon who has lost his or her rider. Then there are a few half breeds here and there who are half elf, half human and sometimes they are born with bonds." The surrounding forest was getting steadily dimmer and so when they came to a suitable clearing a ways downstream of the river Pyhros slid off Saratheen. "We'll camp here for the night, and you both are going to starts some explanations." He said in a deep voice.

"I'm unsure about how much i can tell you. Don't get me wrong, but it looks like somebody's on your heels and we wouldn't be very pleased to get involved in some local conflict or cause one. Remember, we know nothing of here either. Maybe it's better if it stays that way in the details." started Fireheart, "I guess we can tell you that our world is called Dragon Essence. It is an island on which dragons live, or most of them. Then there is one continent on our planet, inhabited mostly by the humans. We have no thing such as your bonds. From time to time, some dragon takes human rider as their hands are smaller and more agile so they can help each other. This is usually done with treasure hunters and alike. Recently our society was almost decimated but we managed to save whoever was left, and it looks like we'll survive as a species, but i tell you it was close. At the end of the conflict, i learned that there are..." Fireheart thought for a second, "other worlds. I've already known about Earth, but only it's location in space. We used a portal to get here. I also found out that there is one other world, called Atlantis. It is said that it was destroyed, supporting the legend of the submerged city at least in some point. Maybe some like that exists here and there might be a reference to the world we seek. It's the only clue we got so far, so we probably have to look into the matter further." he said what he considered harmless. He deliberately didn't tell them about the items that might be hidden on Atlantis. As much as he was for protection of all life, this might be a way to protect dragon essence once and for all, and he didn't want to share at all. He found a place to lay down and did so. His holorider dismounted him and laid his leg. "Anything else you want to know?"
